With the best-of-season 2021 World Series tied at 1-1, the Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves are set to play Game 3 in Truist Park -- home of the Braves -- on Friday night. Leading up to first pitch (shortly after 8 p.m. ET), the forecast for Atlanta and environs is a bit spotty. .
Temps will be in the low 50s at game time, and some rain is in the forecast. Here's the visual summary via Atlanta's CBS 46:
Fortunately, rain is expected to be on the light side. As long as that holds, they should be able to play Game 3 without interruption, but the situation is of course fluid and bears monitoring.
Light rain is also in the early forecast for Game 4 on Saturday night. The planned travel day on Monday following Game 5 does provide some flexibility in terms of a potential makeup date, but right now that looks like it won't be necessary.
Unlike Minute Maid Park, home of the Astros and host of Games 1 and 2 (and Games 6 and 7, if necessary), Truist Park does not have a retractable roof and is thus subject to the elements.
