Gonzalez (shoulder) signed a minor-league deal with the Giants on Thursday, Chris Hilburn-Trenkle of Baseball America reports.

Gonzalez was claimed off waivers by the Giants in August, but he was non-tendered by the club three months later. He spent most of the 2021 season with Triple-A Charlotte as a member of the White Sox organization and posted a .241/.352/.423 line across 163 plate appearances prior to undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum. Entering his age-26 season, Gonzalez has only 13 major-league plate appearances and is likely to serve as organizational depth once healthy.
