Every NFL week starts with a Thursday Night Football game for most of the remainder of the 2021 season, and these are our favorite slates to play Daily Fantasy Football. The TNF showdown slate allows you a smaller crop of players to choose from, and if your cheap sleeper pick hits, you can cash big in your tournaments or easily win your head-to-head DFS matchups.

Every week, I'll get the Thursday Night DFS picks from our experts and we'll feature them below. But first, let's preview the matchup and what we might expect.

Last week was shaping up to be a classic NFC West back-and-forth battle until Russell Wilson was injured. Geno Smith replaced him and led a fun drive for a score before throwing an interception to seal things. This week we have a matchup between the Buccaneers and Eagles that has a fairly high projected point total of 52.5.

This makes sense when you consider the current state of the Buccaneers defense. This isn't the same defense you saw in the Super Bowl due to a slew of injuries in the secondary. Even Jacoby Brissett found success passing the ball last week against this secondary, and Jalen Hurts has QB1 (for the week) upside in this matchup. Devonta Smith also projects to be a value without anyone in the Buccaneers secondary who can match up one on one with him. You'll probably want to get Zach Ertz in your lineups too, but just know that it will be a very chalk play with Dallas Goedert expected to miss this game. The Buccaneers will also be without the leader of their defense -- Lavonte David

On the flip side, Tom Brady enters this game nursing a thumb injury he suffered last week, but he is expected to play through it. With the exception of Rob Gronkowski, Brady will have all of his weapons against an Eagles defense that played better in Week 5 but allowed 40 points or more in consecutive weeks before that.
