The 2016 U.S. presidential election will be over Tuesday, which will probably make Tom Brady happy. Ever since a "Make America Great Again" hat was spotted in Brady's locker, he has been peppered with questions about his relationship with Donald Trump.

On Monday -- the night before the election -- the storyline gained yet another life, because Trump claimed that Brady called him to tell him that he voted for ... you guessed it: Trump.

However, Brady told WEEI 93.7 FM on Monday morning that he did not vote early. And early voting in Massachusetts already ended. So, according to Brady, he did not vote for Trump -- at least not yet. He could still vote for Trump on Tuesday.

Trump also claimed he received a letter from Patriots coach Bill Belichick. Here's what Belichick's alleged letter said, which Trump read aloud:

Congratulations on a tremendous campaign. You have dealt with an unbelievable slanted and negative media, and have come out beautifully -- beautifully. You've proved to be the ultimate competitor and fighter. Your leadership is amazing. I have always had tremendous respect for you, but the toughness and perseverance you have displayed over the past year is remarkable. Hopefully tomorrow's election results will give the opportunity to make America great again. Best wishes for great results tomorrow.

Bill Belichick

Belichick and Trump previously hung out in March. And Brady hasn't shied away from calling Trump a "good friend."

We'll see what the two say when members of the Patriots' media contingent meet with them. The last time someone asked Brady about Trump, he responded by leaving the press conference.
