Eagles' Dylan McMahon: Added as depth to replace Kelce
The Eagles selected McMahon in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 190th overall.
The Eagles lost franchise icon Jason Kelce to retirement during the offseason, leaving Cam Jurgens as the presumed starting center to begin the season. McMahon brings a wealth of overall experience after starting four campaigns at NC State, making it unsurprising that his craftiness and technique are considered his best traits. Despite playing only one year at center -- he was stationed at both right and left guard earlier in his collegiate career -- McMahon lands in a good spot and should make the team barring a disastrous training camp.

Eagles' Johnny Wilson: Joins loaded group of Philly WRs
The Eagles selected Wilson in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 185th overall.
It's not hard to envision how the 6-foot-6, 231-pound pass catcher out of Florida State could make a difference at the NFL level, but the intimidating measurables are offset by unreliable hands (15 career drops), lethargic route running and difficulties revving up his speed both out of routes and after the catch. It's possible Wilson eventually transitions to tight end at some point in his career, but for now he joins a loaded Eagles receiving corps as a pure jump-ball specialist that may struggle to crack the 53-man roster.

Eagles' Trevor Keegan: Philly adds fifth-round blocker
The Eagles selected Keegan in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 172nd overall.
Keegan is a bit thin for a guard (6-foot-5, 310 pounds) and lacks the reach to play at tackle (32 and 3/8-inch arms), but he's a three-year starter from a dominant Michigan offensive line and might have just enough athleticism to develop into a viable NFL starter. Keegan's 5.24-second 40-yard dash, 30.5-inch vertical and 107-inch broad jump were all well above average by guard standards, so Keegan might be able to add some useful weight without falling below the league average line for athleticism. If he can shore up his power element, Keegan wouldn't have any obvious limitations.

Eagles' Jeremiah Trotter: Follows father's footsteps in Philly
The Eagles selected Trotter in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 155th overall.
Trotter literally gets to follow in his father's footsteps and play linebacker for the Eagles. Trotter Jr. played his college ball at Clemson after becoming a big-time recruit out of high school. He lived up to the billing in college with All-ACC accolades and 180 combined tackles in his last two seasons. The Eagles needed help at linebacker, as 2022 draftee Nakobe Dean has not worked out thus far, but Trotter has similar issues to Dean in that he was a great college player with questionable projection to the NFL due to size and unverified athleticism. Trotter clearly has pedigree, and the film shows him as a strong tackler and instinctive linebacker, but 6-foot, 228 pounds is not the conventional frame of an every-down fixture in the front seven.

Eagles' Ainias Smith: Fifth-round pickup for Philly
The Eagles selected Smith in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 152nd overall.
Smith (5-foot-9, 190 pounds) is a short but stocky receiver who showed a fair amount of promise throughout his Texas A&M career. Given his build, it's unlikely that Smith will play much on the boundary in the NFL, but as a horizontally oriented slot type, he might surprise some with his playmaking ability. Although a fifth-year player, Smith was productive during his true freshman and sophomore seasons, so he's already proven that his standout production was not due to any age advantage. Smith should push for slot reps on offense and the punt returner role on special teams for the Eagles.

Eagles' Will Shipley: Flies to Philly in fourth round
The Eagles selected Shipley in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 127th overall.
Those hoping for Shipley to make an immediate impact as a rookie may be disappointed with this selection because the Eagles gave Saquon Barkley a big contract this offseason. Still, Shipley profiles as a solid depth option behind Barkley, who has had durability issues. Shipley starred at Clemson for three years after being ranked as a five-star recruit in high school. He topped out with 210 carries for 1,182 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2022 and was more so part of a committee as a junior. Shipley did not test at the combine due to a knee issue but put down a 4.45 in the 40 at Clemson's Pro Day. He may not be built for workhorse functions but can be a rotational rusher with some pass-catching assignments as well given his 69 receptions on 85 targets in his final two seasons in college. Shipley is a better back right now than Kenneth Gainwell, but that hasn't stopped Philadelphia from giving Gainwell the snaps anyway in the past.
