Italian Serie A picks for Roma vs. Empoli

Before you tune in to Sunday's match, you need to see the Empoli vs. Roma picks from sports betting expert Jon Eimer. Eimer is a high-volume bettor who has vast knowledge of leagues and players across the globe. Since joining SportsLine, Eimer has covered the English Premier League, Serie A, the FA Cup and much more. The Indiana-based handicapper compiled a winning record of 260-133-1 with over 90 units of profit for his community on various platforms over a recent two-month stretch.

For Roma vs. Empoli, Eimer is backing Roma to secure the victory on the road. The two teams are only separated by six points and four spots in the Serie A table, but Mourinho's side is currently playing better. Roma has collected seven points from its previous five matches, while Empoli has only three points in its last five matches and hasn't managed a single win during that span.

Roma also has a loss to AC Milan and a loss to Juventus against the run of play during that span, while Empoli has a loss to Sassuolo and draws against bottom-feeders Venezia and Spezia. Both teams can score, with Roma scoring 36 goals this season and Empoli scoring 35. But Mourinho's squad is more solid defensively, conceding 28 goals to Empoli's 43.

The Romans dominated the reverse fixture at Stadio Olimpico, possessing the ball 64 percent of the time and outshooting Empoli 18-12 en route to a 2-0 victory in October. Lorenzo Pellegrini and Henrikh Mkhitaryan both had goals in the matchup and Tammy Abraham created chances for himself all night, taking six shots and putting two on target. Eimer is expecting more of the same on Sunday and is also predicting Abraham as an anytime goalscorer in addition to the Roma win.
