The high school football season is winding down and the MaxPreps National Championship picture is becoming more clear. No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) controls its own destiny and is now one win away from going to wire-to-wire as the top-ranked team in the country after beating No. 4 Servite (Anaheim) 27-7 in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 championship.

After Elijah Brown threw an interception on his first pass of the night that resulted in the Friars only score the Monarchs scored the final 27 points. Mater Dei's defense dominated and held Servite to just over 100 total yards and Oklahoma-bound running back Raleek Brown had a monster night rushing for 162 yards and a score. ...
