With the Houston Astros falling to the Atlanta Braves in the 2021 World Series, Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale missed out on another massive payout. McIngvale had wagered $3.25 million across multiple sportsbooks and would've win $35.6 million if the Astros won it all.

"We are part of the largest gaming company in the U.S., and we're not afraid to take the wagers that give others pause," Head of Sports at Caesars Digital Kenneth Fuchs said. "We'd take this bet again, win or lose, because that's what we do and we love it."

McIngvale had placed a $2 million bet (+1000 odds) with the William Hill mobile app, which would've had a payout of $22 million alone. If that wager would've come to fruition, that would've been a United States record.

McIngvale runs a promotion at his store, Gallery Furniture, in which customers that spend $3,000 or more get their money back if the Astros win the World Series. Prior to the World Series, McIngvale told the Action Network that his liability is $20 million, so the William Hill bet would cover the promotion with some to spare.

It's been no secret that McIngvale has never been afraid to place large wagers. Earlier this year, McIngvale wagered $3.46 million on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3.5 points in the Super Bowl, which easily won.

However, McIngvale's bets have come up empty as of late. The furniture magnate salesman placed a $2.4 million wager on Essential Quality to win the Kentucky Derby and $1 million on Houston to win the men's NCAA Tournament. Both of those wagers did not hit.

If there's anything we've learned, McIngvale will be placing more large sports bet in the future regardless of the Astros failing to cash in.
