Orioles' Seranthony Dominguez: Notches four-out save
Dominguez allowed a hit over 1.1 scoreless innings Friday, striking out two and earning a save against the Rays.
Dominguez found himself in trouble after an error in the ninth inning but he escaped the threat and preserved a 2-0 win. He's now converted all eight save chances he's received since joining Baltimore on July 26. As an Oriole, he's registered a 2.76 ERA with a 21:4 K:BB over 16.1 frames. Dominguez appears to have cemented himself as the team's leading ninth-inning option.

Orioles' Seranthony Dominguez: Collects eighth save
Dominguez gave up a run on two hits in the ninth inning Friday to record his eighth save of the season in a 5-3 win over the Rockies. He struck out two.
Brendan Rodgers got hold of a hanging slider and slugged a one-out solo shot off Dominguez, but the right-hander didn't let Colorado get any closer. It's the fourth homer he's served up in his last seven appearances, a sign that his run of high-leverage success may not last much longer, but Dominguez has also converted all five of his save chances during that stretch. Since being traded to the Orioles, he's posted a 3.00 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 19:4 K:BB in 15 innings.

Dominguez earned the save in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out one over a scoreless inning.
Dominguez worked hard to get three outs, needing 32 pitches to complete the inning, but he ultimately got the job done to pick up his sixth save this month and seventh of the year. He's now posted three straight scoreless outings since allowing a run in three straight appearances. The 29-year-old righty owns a 4.14 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 57:16 K:BB in 50 innings and remains the team's top choice for closing duties.

Orioles' Seranthony Dominguez: Earns fifth save
Dominguez threw a scoreless inning to earn the save against the Astros on Friday.
Dominguez was called upon to protect a 7-5 lead in the ninth inning and did so on 19 pitches. Despite suffering back-to-back losses and yielding runs in three straight appearances entering Friday, the 29-year-old has converted all four of his save chances with the Orioles. He still appears to be the team's top choice for saves at the moment and owns a 4.31 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 55:15 K:BB across 48 innings this season, split between Baltimore and Philadelphia.

Orioles' Seranthony Dominguez: Takes another walk-off loss
Dominguez (3-4) allowed a run on one hit and struck out one over one-third of an inning to take the loss Wednesday versus the Mets.
Dominguez will be happy to leave Citi Field, as he's taken two walk-off losses during the Orioles' three-game series in Queens. Jesse Winker delivered the decisive solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to send Dominguez to his second straight loss. The right-hander is now at a 4.40 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 55:15 K:BB through 47 innings this year. He's added four saves and five holds, and while he's been the Orioles' top closing option in August, that could change quickly if he doesn't correct course from his current slump.

Orioles' Seranthony Dominguez: Gets walked off Monday
Dominguez (3-3) allowed one run on one hit and struck out one in one-third of an inning to take the loss versus the Mets on Monday.
Dominguez was called on to keep the game tied at 3-3 in the ninth inning, but he allowed a one-out solo home run to Francisco Alvarez. This was the second outing in a row in which Dominguez has given up a run after previously posting a five-inning scoreless streak. For the season, he's now at a 4.24 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 54:15 K:BB over 46.2 innings while adding four saves and five holds. Dominguez has emerged as manager Brandon Hyde's top closing option this month, but his grip on that role is tenuous even with Craig Kimbrel struggling. Yennier Cano and Cionel Perez are also options to see late-inning work.

Orioles' Seranthony Dominguez: Collects fourth save
Dominguez earned his fourth save of the season Sunday against the Red Sox, allowing one earned run on one hit and zero walks in 1.1 innings. He struck out three.
Dominguez allowed a solo home run to Rob Refsnyder in the ninth but was otherwise excellent, escaping a bases-loaded jam in the eighth and striking out three batters in the ninth inning. With incumbent closer Craig Kimbrel allowing earned runs in back-to-back appearances, manager Brandon Hyde appears to have turned over the closer role to the newly acquired Dominguez. The 29-year-old Dominguez has been superb since coming over from Philadelphia on July 26, converting all three of his save chances while logging a robust 1.74 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB in 10.1 innings.

Orioles' Seranthony Dominguez: Racks up third save
Dominguez walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to record his third save of the season, and second with the Orioles, in a 4-1 win over the Nationals.
Craig Kimbrel last pitched Sunday, but it was still Dominguez that manager Brandon Hyde turned to in the ninth Wednesday to protect a three-run lead. There's been no official word that Kimbrel is out as Baltimore's closer, but his hold on the job is looking tenuous at the moment. Since coming over from the Phillies, Dominguez has produced an impressive 1.00 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB through nine innings, and he's picked up the last two saves for the O's.

Orioles' Seranthony Dominguez: Nabs first save with new team
Dominguez walked one and struck out one over a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Rays.
Dominguez has steadied himself since he was traded from the Phillies to the Orioles on July 26. Over eight innings with Baltimore, he has allowed just one run with a 9:2 K:BB, and now he has a save. It's especially noteworthy he got the save chance Saturday, as regular closer Craig Kimbrel hadn't pitched over the last three days. Kimbrel has allowed nine runs (seven earned) over his last 7.2 innings, but he's on a three-inning scoreless streak. Manager Brandon Hyde told reporters after the game that he's trying to keep the pressure off Kimbrel during his recent slump while also giving the veteran a vote of confidence, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports, but this usage suggests Dominguez has established himself as a high-leverage option with his new team. For the year, Dominguez has a 4.09 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 49:14 K:BB while adding two saves and five holds over 44 innings.
