Tim Tebow could run for political office. (USATSI)

We live in a world where anyone can run for office. No, really, that's how politics work. There are some basic qualifications, but if, say, Tim Tebow wanted to run for political office it would be well within his rights!

The former Broncos, Jets, Patriots and Eagles quarterback -- who will never, ever, ever rule out a comeback in the NFL -- said he finds the idea of running for office "intriguing."

"If there's a chance you can make a difference some day in something, that would be intriguing," Tebow said.

Sound all of the alarms and batten the hatches.

PRESIDENT TEBOW IS COMING TO YOUR CITY.

OK, just kidding about that part. But the idea of Tebow running for office and winning? Not that far-fetched.

Tebow is immensely popular in the state of Florida because of what he did with the Florida Gators when he played there. Despite his NFL struggles, Tebow is arguably the greatest college football player of all time.

Everywhere he went in the NFL, he was also popular. Stranger things have happened.
