The MLS regular season is over. A wild day of 10 games all at once has come to a close, and here's everything you need to know as one playoff spot was up for grabs in the east and three were unoccupied in the west entering the day.

In the Eastern Conference, Philadelphia Union held on to the final playoff spot, while in the Western Conference it was Real Salt Lake, Seattle Sounders and Sporting Kansas City that clinched.

That means for the first time ever the two finalists of the previous year's MLS Cup missed the playoffs the following season, as Portland and Columbus will watch from home.
