Purdue completed a clean sweep of the college basketball rankings on Monday, when the Boilermakers reached No. 1 in the Coaches Poll after also landing the top spot in the AP Top 25. It marks a historic day for the program, which was No. 2 in last week's Coaches Poll.

The Boilermakers knocked off Iowa and Florida State last week to improve to 8-0. They play at Rutgers on Thursday and host NC State on Sunday. If Purdue beats NC State, it will be three wins away from an undefeated run in non conference games this season. After a disappointing first-round exit from last season's NCAA Tournament in a loss to No. 13 seed North Texas, the hot start has shown just how much of a threat Purdue could be to make a deep run this postseason. The Boilermakers have not yet reached a Final Four under 17th-year coach Matt Painter. But this team looks capable of reaching that milestone.

Other notable movers in this week's Coaches Poll included Arizona rising three spots to No. 8 amid a 7-0 start. The Wildcats are three spots higher in the Coaches Poll than in the AP poll this week.
