Watkins, who shed the walking boot on his injured foot last week, continues to progress in his recovery, BuffaloBills.com reports. Said general manager Doug Whaley on Tuesday, "Right now still no setbacks and we're looking day by day he's getting better and better. We'll see what happens in a couple of weeks when he's actually able to get back to practice and make a determination."
Watkins is eligible to begin practicing Friday, Nov. 11, and if all goes well and the Bills choose him as the designated player to return from IR, the first game in which he could be active for would be the Nov. 27 tilt against Jacksonville. While him being 100 percent healthy is far from a sure thing, that'd be five games of a guy with elite receiving skills for a team that might have something to play for right up until Week 17. Those with deeper benches should probably start eyeballing the waiver wire's "W" index of available players.
