  • Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Hauls in five passes in Week 12

Shenault recorded five catches (on nine targets) for 33 yards during Sunday's 21-14 defeat to the Falcons.

Shenault's team-high target tally was the second most he's received in a game this season, and the third most of his one-and-a-half campaigns as a pro. However, he was unable to do much with them. His two longest receptions went for 24 and 11 yards, while the other three totaled minus-2 yards. Since he compiled at least 48 yards in five of the first six games of the season, Shenault has only gone past that threshold once in the last five contests. He may have a difficult time turning it around next Sunday in a road matchup with the Rams.

  • Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Efficient on five targets

Shenault caught five passes for 50 yards on five targets against San Francisco on Sunday.

Shenault was efficient with his five targets, but he undermined his box score with a lost fumble. Shenault's effectiveness had badly suffered after moving from the slot to outside receiver, so even this mostly unimpressive game is sadly a welcome development in Shenault's highly disappointing season. If Jamal Agnew (hip) misses time, though, the Jaguars might have Shenault play in the slot more against the Falcons in Week 12, which would be a more natural fit for his skill set.

  • Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Totals 21 yards Sunday

Shenault caught three of eight targets for 15 yards and had two carries for six yards during Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Colts.

Shenault led Jacksonville's pass catchers with eight targets, but he wasn't in tune with QB Trevor Lawrence and ended up with another disappointing performance. The young wideout has nine receptions on 16 targets for 52 yards plus four carries for 10 yards in three games since Jacksonville's Week 7 bye.

  • Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Minor production in win

Shenault caught all four of his targets for 24 yards and had one carry for minus-4 yards during Sunday's 9-6 win over the Bills.

Shenault tied for the team lead in receptions, but his involvement once again was limited to the short passing game. The 2020 second-round pick has 32 catches for 343 yards with five rushes for 24 yards and zero total touches through eight games this year, making him a desperation fantasy option barring a significant turnaround.

  • Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Minimal role in blowout loss

Shenault caught two of four targets for 13 yards and had one carry for eight yards during Sunday's 31-7 loss to the Seahawks.

The 2020 second-round pick played 52 of 76 offensive snaps -- four fewer than Jamal Agnew -- and was targeted only four times on a day when QB Trevor Lawrence attempted 54 passes. Shenault's involvement in the offense continues to be inconsistent, and the fact he saw minimal action coming out of the bye week is a worrying sign. He's failed to take advantage of the absence of DJ Chark (ankle), while Agnew, who had only 105 receiving yards in 46 career games entering this season, has 17 catches for 157 yards and a touchdown over the past three contests.

  • Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Involvement returns

Shenault recorded six receptions on 10 targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Dolphins.

After being curiously absent from the Jaguars' offensive gameplan in Week 5, Shenault tied for the team lead with 10 targets in Sunday's win. That didn't lead to much production, as he averaged only 5.4 yards per target with his longest receptions going for 12 yards. Despite the inefficiency, Shenault has now seen at least seven targets in four of six games on the campaign and has reached double-digit looks on two occasions.

  • Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Quiet in Week 5

Shenault caught one of three targets for 58 yards against Tennessee on Sunday.

In a game during which the Jaguars trailed most of the time and in which quarterback Trevor Lawrence attempted 33 passes, Shenault somehow drew only three targets. It's a puzzling outcome for Shenault after he notched six receptions for 99 yards on seven targets in Week 4, and especially given the absence of DJ Chark (ankle). The Jaguars coaching staff likely understands Shenault's three targets as a policy failure in need of correction before Week 6, when the Jaguars will take on the Dolphins.

  • Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Set for larger role

Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said Thursday that Shenault will take on a bigger role in the passing game with DJ Chark (ankle) slated to miss the rest of the season, John Shipley of SI.com reports.

Shenault delivered his best game of the year after Chark went down with the injury Week 4, catching six passes for a career-high 99 yards in the Jaguars' loss to the Bengals. The 23-year-old primarily operated in the short passing game for the first three games of the season, but he should be more involved downfield with Chark now sidelined. Shenault had a disappointing start to 2021 after entering the campaign as a fantasy sleeper candidate, but he now has a prime opportunity to turn things around.

  • Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Stands out in close loss

Shenault brought in six of seven targets for 99 yards in the Jaguars' 24-21 loss to the Bengals on Thursday night. He also rushed once for 11 yards.

The versatile receiver comfortably led the Jaguars in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the night, with DJ Chark's first-half exit with a fractured ankle playing a part in Shenault's expanded role. The 22-year-old's targets had been on the decline since he'd logged nine in Week 1 against the Texans, so Thursday's resurgence, which included a career-high tally in receiving yards, was certainly a welcome sight. With Chark now out indefinitely, Shenault could continue enjoying a heavier workload for the foreseeable future.

  • Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Totals 48 yards in loss

Shenault secured all four of his targets for 48 yards during Sunday's 31-19 loss to Arizona.

Shenault ranked second on the team in targets through the first two games of the season, but he finished fifth in targets versus the Cardinals. The 22-year-old had a season-high 20-yard reception but continues to work mostly underneath in Jacksonville's passing game. Rookie QB Trevor Lawrence continues to struggle with turnovers, and Shenault's not exactly a viable fantasy option at this point as Marvin Jones and DJ Chark remain the more productive wideouts.
