Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Posts promising line
Shenault recorded five receptions on seven targets for 62 yards in Sunday's 26-11 win over the Colts.
Shenault finished second on the team in targets, receptions and yards, and he was out-produced on the team by only Marvin Jones. As could be expected, Shenault worked primarily in the short areas of the field and relied heavily on yardage after the catch for his production. The end result was Shenault's best performance since Week 4. Despite the campaign ending on a positive note, there's no denying that this season was a big disappointment for Shenault, as he failed to find the end zone and had minimal improvement over his rookie campaign from a statistical standpoint.... Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Minimally involved in return
Shenault caught two of three targets for 13 yards during Sunday's 50-10 loss to New England.
Shenault returned from the reserve/COVID-19 list after a one-game absence and finished fourth on the team in targets, trailing Marvin Jones, Laquon Treadwell and Tavon Austin. The 2020 second-round pick will enter the final game of the season with 58 catches for 557 yards and zero touchdowns in 14 games.... See More ... See Less
Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Poised to face New England
Shenault (shoulder/foot) isn't listed on the Jaguars' injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Shenault was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, but prior to being deactivated, he had been tending to shoulder and foot injuries. Evidently, he's moved past both health concerns and is in line to return to action after missing the Jaguars' Week 16 loss to the Jets. In 14 games to date, Shenault is averaging four catches (on 6.4 targets) for 38.9 receiving yards, numbers that give him a degree of utility in PPR formats.... See More ... See Less
Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Returns from COVID list
Shenault (shoulder/foot) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday.
Shenault missed Week 16 after landing on the COVID-19 list last week, but he's back on the active roster ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Patriots. The 23-year-old was nursing foot and shoulder injuries before going on the virus list, and his participation level at Friday's practice should provide an idea of his outlook for this weekend.... Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Still on COVID list
Shenault remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of Sunday's game against the Jets.
Until Shenault -- who was dealing with shoulder and foot issues prior to landing on the list -- clears the NFL's COVID protocols, Tavon Austin is a candidate to see added snaps alongside Marvin Jones and Laquon Treadwell. To add wideout depth ahead of Week 16 action, the Jaguars elevated Josh Hammond from their practice squad.... See More ... See Less
Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Placed on COVID-19 list
Shenault (shoulder/foot) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday.
Shenault has been limited at practice this week due to shoulder and foot injuries, and he's now sidelined due to league protocols. He'll have a difficult time gaining clearance to return to the active roster in time for Sunday's matchup with the Jets. If Shenault is unavailable, Tavon Austin should see increased run as Jacksonville's No. 3 wideout this weekend.... See More ... See Less
Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Returns to limited practice
Shenault (shoulder/foot) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, John Reid of the Florida Times Union reports.
Shenault's limited participation Thursday is an encouraging sign after he sat out practice Wednesday. The pair of injuries will likely land him on Friday's injury report, but it's looking like Shenault will most likely be able to play Sunday against the Jets. Jacksonville's second-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft is still searching for his first touchdown of the season.... See More ... See Less
Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Nursing shoulder, foot issues
Shenault didn't practice Wednesday due to shoulder and foot injuries.
Shenault presumably picked up the injuries during Sunday's loss to the Texans while totaling four catches for 39 yards and one carry for 10 yards. The 23-year-old may need to practice in some capacity Thursday or Friday to have a chance of suiting up this weekend versus the Jets.... See More ... See Less
Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Seven targets in loss
Shenault caught four of seven targets for 39 yards and had one carry for 10 yards during Sunday's 30-16 loss to Houston.
Shenault finished second on the team in targets but was unable to produce anything significant with those looks. The 23-year-old is the safety valve for rookie QB Trevor Lawrence, but the young wideout has minimal fantasy upside given he's reached 50 yards from scrimmage only once in the past eight games and has yet to score a touchdown this season.... Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Subpar production continues
Shenault caught four of seven targets for 34 yards during Sunday's 20-0 loss to the Titans.
Shenault tied for the team lead in targets but once again failed to provide significant production. The 2020 second-round pick has averaged 3.7 receptions for 28.4 yards in seven games since Jacksonville's Week 7 bye, and he's still looking for his first touchdown of the season.... See More ... Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Secures three receptions
Shenault caught three of five targets for 30 yards and carried three times for one yard during Sunday's 37-7 loss to the Rams.
Shenault finished third among Jacksonville's wideouts with a season-low 31 offensive snaps, though he did tie for second on the team in targets. The 2020 second-round pick has seen at least five targets in each of the past four games but has only 16 receptions for 128 yards during that span. Shenault has yet to score a touchdown through 12 games this season, and his 6.2 yards per target as part of a scuffling offense means his fantasy appeal is limited.... See More ... See Less
Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Hauls in five passes in Week 12
Shenault recorded five catches (on nine targets) for 33 yards during Sunday's 21-14 defeat to the Falcons.
Shenault's team-high target tally was the second most he's received in a game this season, and the third most of his one-and-a-half campaigns as a pro. However, he was unable to do much with them. His two longest receptions went for 24 and 11 yards, while the other three totaled minus-2 yards. Since he compiled at least 48 yards in five of the first six games of the season, Shenault has only gone past that threshold once in the last five contests. He may have a difficult time turning it around next Sunday in a road matchup with the Rams.... See More ... See Less
Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Efficient on five targets
Shenault caught five passes for 50 yards on five targets against San Francisco on Sunday.
Shenault was efficient with his five targets, but he undermined his box score with a lost fumble. Shenault's effectiveness had badly suffered after moving from the slot to outside receiver, so even this mostly unimpressive game is sadly a welcome development in Shenault's highly disappointing season. If Jamal Agnew (hip) misses time, though, the Jaguars might have Shenault play in the slot more against the Falcons in Week 12, which would be a more natural fit for his skill set.... See More ...
