Every NFL week starts with a Thursday Night Football game for most of the remainder of the 2021 season, and these are our favorite slates to play Daily Fantasy Football. The TNF showdown slate allows you a smaller crop of players to choose from, and if your cheap sleeper pick hits, you can cash big in your tournaments or easily win your head-to-head DFS matchups.

Every week, I'll get the Thursday Night DFS picks from our experts and we'll feature them below. But first, let's preview the matchup and what we might expect.

Last week was a grindfest between the Browns and Broncos as to be expected once we found out Cleveland would have to turn to Case Keenum at quarterback. This week should be a bit more exciting with the Packers and Cardinals on tap. But the biggest story this week that will certainly impact your Daily Fantasy Football lineups is Green Bay's wide receiver situation. Before you set your DFS lineups, you're going to want to make sure the Packers remove Marquez Valdes-Scantling from the IR. That was originally the expectation, but ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the Packers might want to wait another week and his status for tonight "doesn't look good" for now.

Why is that so important? Well, the Packers will likely be without both Davante Adams and Allen Lazard. Both receivers were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Adams is considered highly unlikely to play. Lazard is not vaccinated so he has all but been ruled out already. In addition to Valdes-Scantling, it could be a big game from a volume standpoint for Robert Tonyan and Randall Cobb. Keep an eye on them -- but understand they'll be popular picks for DFS lineups based on value/price. That might make them less attractive in large field tournaments.

On the flip side, Kyler Murray is the only quarterback in the NFL with a 100-plus rating in six games this season and we can expect him to make that seven vs. a Packers defense that allowed Washington to move up and down the field last week. Murray has spread the ball around more this season than last -- when DeAndre Hopkins commanded a massive target share -- that just shows his improved understanding of the offensive system. Hopkins enters this one with a questionable tag but is expected to play barring a pregame setback. That's something to keep an eye on as well. Zach Ertz will be a popular play after scoring in his Cardinals debut, but his target
