Odell Beckham Jr. is letting himself soak in the free agent waters. After the former Browns receiver cleared waivers on Tuesday, there was some thought that he'd quickly find a new home in the NFL and ink a deal with a team in relatively short order. Well, the former Pro Bowl receiver appears to be taking his time as he decides where the next chapter in his NFL career will take place. According to Kim Jones and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the indications are that Beckham is going to take some time to choose his next team and that decision is still a few days away.
With that in mind, it would seem rather unlikely that Beckham is playing anywhere in Week 10 even if he signs on with a team before Sunday. That would likely be too quick of a turnaround for him to learn enough of the playbook, build up any rapport with his new quarterback, and actually be a valuable contributor, so the earliest we'll possibly see Beckham is probably Week 11.
As for what his options are, Rapoport adds that the Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, and New England Patriots have either given the receiver an offer or have expressed extreme interest in signing him. Those teams have been apparent landing spots for Beckham essentially since word got out that he was going to be released, but ESPN's Dianna Rusini did report earlier on Wednesday that he was zeroing in on the Chiefs, Packers, and Saints.
Currently, the oddsmakers at SportsLine have the Packers (+200) as the favorite to land Beckham, followed by the Chiefs (+250), Saints (+400), Seahawks (+600) and Patriots (+700).
