Villanova can make history Tuesday night when it wraps Big Five play against Temple because a victory will extend the Wildcats' winning streak to 17 games.
That would be a school record.
And we really are, right now, experiencing one of the great runs in recent college basketball history. Jay Wright's team won six straight games to close last season, beat traditional powers Kansas and North Carolina, and won the 2017 NCAA Tournament. They then lost their point guard (Ryan Arcidiacono), center (Daniel Ochefu) and top recruit (Omari Spellman). But it hasn't mattered much because the Wildcats are off to a 10-0 start and ranked No. 1 in the CBS Sports Top 25 (and one).
What a story.
