Gonzaga enters this week 28-0 (with 25 double-digit victories) and in possession of a resume featuring four top-25 RPI wins - among them wins over schools that are currently in first place in the Pac-12 standings (Arizona) and SEC standings (Florida). Barring a surprise, the Zags will be undefeated on Selection Sunday. That will be good enough for the No. 1 seed in the West Regional of the NCAA Tournament - and it should be good enough for the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.
How the selection committee looked at Gonzaga’s resume two weekends ago and concluded the Zags should be the fourth No. 1 is incomprehensible. But, I think, they’ll right their previous wrong on Selection Sunday.
