Seven weeks after he returned to the Panthers and six weeks after he made his first start of 2021, Cam Newton is back to the bench. Carolina has elevated Sam Darnold back into the starting quarterback role for the Panthers' matchup against the Saints on Sunday. The Panthers are 6.5-point underdogs in the latest Week 17 NFL odds from Caesars Sportsbook.

In the NFL's current COVID-19 reality where the Omicron variant is spreading across the league, NFL spreads can change at a moment's notice as players drop in and out of lineups. How does the Panthers' change at quarterback compare with other changes around the league? All of the Week 17 NFL lines are listed below and SportsLine's advanced computer model has all the NFL betting advice and predictions you need to make the best Week 17 NFL picks now.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up over $7,100 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. The model enters Week 17 of the 2021 season on an incredible 134-96 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.

The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past five years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.

Now, it has turned its attention to the latest Week 17 NFL odds and locked in picks for every NFL matchup. Head here to see every pick.

Top Week 17 NFL predictions

One of the model's strongest Week 17 NFL picks is that the Cardinals (+6) cover the spread against the Cowboys. While Arizona has cratered in recent weeks, including in a 30-12 loss to the struggling Detroit Lions, the Cardinals still have potential heading into this game. The model projects a solid game from quarterback Kyler Murray, who passes for almost 260 yards and runs for more than 30 in SportsLine's projections.

SportsLine's model has the Cardinals covering the spread in well over 50 percent of simulations and has them winning straight-up well over 40 percent of the time. The point total, which sits at 51, goes under in more than 50 percent of simulations as well.

SportsLine's model predicts Murray will have another up-and-down day, but will pass for just over 260 yards with a better chance to throw two touchdowns than two interceptions. Chase Edmonds is also projected to finish with over 100 total yards and the Cardinals keep the game within a point on the road.

Another one of its Week 17 NFL predictions: The Steelers (+3.5) cover against the Browns on Monday Night Football. This could be veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's final home game with the Steelers. He has led the team to a 5-0-1 record in their last six home games and will play in front of a raucous crowd. The Steelers still have a shot at making the playoffs with a pair of wins to close the regular season.

SportsLine's model is projecting Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield to throw another interception on Monday Night Football. As a result, the Steelers cover the spread in more than 60 percent of simulations.
