I don't usually write about personal things in this column. That's not my style. I like to stick to football, if you will, because that's why you're here.

But this week, I wanted to bring something up because my personal life once crossed over to work in a major way. On Saturday, it's the 10-year anniversary of when my mom, Roberta Eisenberg, passed away.

For those of you who have followed me for over a decade, you were very kind to me during that time, and I greatly appreciate it. It's never easy when a loved one dies, especially a parent at a young age, but she lost the fight against lung cancer at 66.

It happened on the Sunday of Week 14, so this week is a little rough for me and brings back painful memories. I think about my mom all the time, but I'll relive that day again this weekend and then move on to the positive thoughts of a beautiful person.

I'm sorry for veering away from why you're here, and we'll get to the Fantasy Football recommendations soon, I promise. But I wanted to bring this up with the holidays approaching that you should tell the people in your life that matter how much you love them. Hug them a little tighter. We often forget to do that because of life getting in the way.

I'd give anything to hug my mom one more time. To have a conversation with her. She used to send me football articles when I was in college all the time of my favorite writers -- before the internet -- and she fueled my passion for what I do now. Great parents often do that for their kids.

If she were reading this now -- and she read every story I wrote at every place I've ever worked -- she would say enough already, get to the part that matters. She mattered to me, and I'll miss her even more this week.

Thanks for reading this. And again, thank you for all the kind messages 10 years ago. It meant a lot then and still does now.

Taysom Hill did not play well in Week 13 against Dallas. He was 19-of-41 passing for 264 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions, and he looked ugly throwing the ball at times. But that's not what matters here.

What matters is he had 11 carries for 101 yards. And if he does anything close to that on the ground moving forward, he's going to be a rock star Fantasy quarterback. He should be awesome against the Jets this week.

Hill scored 24 Fantasy points against the Cowboys with the four interceptions, and he could be a top-five Fantasy quarterback if he can eliminate the turnovers -- or at least limit them. This isn't a fluke for him because we saw last year in four starts for an injured Drew Brees he could be successful, scoring at least 23 Fantasy points in three of those outings.

He's dealing with a finger injury sustained against Dallas, but he practiced in full Wednesday and should be fine. And now he gets to abuse the Jets.

There have been six quarterbacks in the past eight games against the Jets to score at least 22 Fantasy points, including Gardner Minshew last week. Hill should follow suit. He has top-10 upside in all leagues.

And I like that Alvin Kamara (knee) is back as well to give him another weapon at his disposal. It might be ugly how Hill gets it done, but he should be successful once again as a Fantasy quarterback in Week 14.

Fantasy managers are just fine if Stafford is playing hurt over the past two games since he's averaging 28.5 Fantasy points over that span, and hopefully he stays hot against the Cardinals. Stafford scored 23 Fantasy points against Arizona in Week 4, and he should be in that range again in the rematch. It's a tough matchup since the Cardinals allow just 15.0 Fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, and Jimmy Garoppolo in Week 9 is the only quarterback since Stafford to score more than 19 points against Arizona. But I'll take my chances with Stafford as a top-10 Fantasy passer this week.

Wilson is only averaging 21.5 Fantasy points per game in his past two outings, but he appears to be getting comfortable with his injured finger. He played well in Week 13 against San Francisco, completing 30-of-37 passes for 231 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, which was the result of Gerald Everett bobbling the ball in the end zone, negating a third score. The Texans haven't allowed a quarterback to score more than 12 Fantasy points since Week 8 because teams mostly run on them. But given Seattle's inconsistent ground attack, Wilson is worth trusting as a low-end starter in all leagues.

Newton has made two starts for the Panthers. He scored 29 Fantasy points against Washington in Week 11 and five Fantasy points at Miami in Week 12, which resulted in him getting benched for P.J. Walker. Since then, Carolina had a bye in Week 13, lost Christian McCaffrey (ankle) for the season and fired offensive coordinator Joe Brady. Hopefully, new play caller Jeff Nixon will lean on Newton, and he has a favorable matchup against the Falcons, who allow an average of 24.2 Fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. It should help Newton that Atlanta is No. 4 in rushing yards allowed to opposing quarterbacks, with five guys running for at least 39 yards, including Sam Darnold in Week 8 when he had eight carries for 66 yards.

Roethlisberger has scored at least 20 Fantasy points in three of his past four games, and The Athletic suggests the Steelers offense should run through their quarterback. We'll see if that works, but Roethlisberger is worth consideration as a streamer for Week 14 at Minnesota. The Vikings allow an average of 21.2 Fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks for the year, and two of the past three quarterbacks against Minnesota have scored at least 25 Fantasy points, including Jared Goff last week.

It's been a bad year for Tannehill, who has just four games with at least 20 Fantasy points, but hopefully he can finish the season strong. Julio Jones (hamstring) is expected to return this week, and Tannehill has the chance for a quality outing against the Jaguars at home. He only scored 15 Fantasy points at Jacksonville in Week 5, but Derrick Henry (foot) was healthy then. We'll see if D'Onta Foreman and Dontrell Hilliard can run over the Jaguars, but Tannehill might have to do more heavy lifting. And Jacksonville has allowed two of its past three opposing quarterbacks to score at least 20 Fantasy points. Tannehill is worth using as a streaming option in deeper leagues.

Heinicke has scored more than 18 Fantasy points just once since Week 7, but I'm going to give him the chance as a streamer in Week 14 against Dallas in what hopefully turns into a shootout. Heinicke did just have two touchdowns in Week 13 at Las Vegas, and the Cowboys have allowed three of their past five opposing quarterbacks to score at least 24 Fantasy points, including Teddy Bridgewater in Week 9, Derek Carr in Week 12 and Taysom Hill in Week 13.

Burrow is struggling as a Fantasy quarterback, and now he's dealing with a dislocated pinkie on his throwing hand. He comes into Week 14 having scored 18 Fantasy points or less in four games in a row, mostly because the Bengals have been leaning on Joe Mixon. We'll see if things change for Burrow this week against the 49ers, but it's hard to trust him right now, especially since he's not at 100 percent. And San Francisco has held five quarterbacks in a row to 20 Fantasy points or less.

Carr scored 21 Fantasy points against the Chiefs in Week 10, and he's certainly capable of matching that total or even exceeding it this week in the rematch. But Arrowhead Stadium has been a house of horrors for Carr in his career. Now, he did pass for 347 yards, three touchdowns and one interception at Kansas City last year. But prior to that, he had four games in a row with 222 passing yards or less, two touchdowns and six interceptions. This Chiefs defense is playing great right now, allowing just Carr to score more than 19 Fantasy points against them in their past five games. I'm expecting Carr to struggle, especially if Darren Waller (knee) remains out, and Carr is only worth using in two-quarterback and Superflex leagues.

The first meeting with the Panthers in Week 8 was the first game for Ryan after Calvin Ridley (personal) left the team. Ryan scored seven Fantasy points against Carolina, and since then he's scored more than 11 Fantasy points just once. The Panthers defense has also been a tough opponent, allowing just Heinicke in Week 11 to score more than 15 Fantasy points in their past five games. Without Ridley, Ryan is just an option in two-quarterback and Superflex leagues.

Cousins is still worth starting in most leagues, but don't be surprised if he struggles in this matchup. He's likely without starting receiver Adam Thielen (ankle) and starting left tackle Christian Darrisaw (ankle), and that's bad news against the Steelers. Pittsburgh has allowed one quarterback to score more than 19 Fantasy points since Week 5, which was Justin Herbert in Week 11. T.J. Watt missed that game due to injury, and he's the driving force behind this defense. Cousins should be considered a low-end starter in most leagues on Thursday night.

You're obviously starting Williams if Melvin Gordon (hip) remains out again in Week 14 against Detroit, but you can start Williams and probably Gordon also if both are active. I'm not sure if Williams has now put himself in the lead spot of this tandem when Gordon returns, but he should be the top option. Williams was exceptional against the Chiefs in Week 13 when Gordon was out with 23 carries for 102 yards, as well as six catches for 76 yards and a touchdown on nine targets. He's now scored at least 19 PPR points in each of his past two games and could be a star to close the season. The Lions have allowed five running backs to score at least 17 PPR points in their past five games.

This has to be the week Barkley breaks out, right? He's facing a Chargers defense that is second in the NFL in rushing yards allowed and ninth in most Fantasy points allowed to running backs. The Chargers have allowed six rushing touchdowns to running backs in their past five games and 15 rushing touchdowns to the position on the season, which is second only to the Jets (18). Barkley hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 4, so he's due. Keep starting him as a top 15 Fantasy running back in all leagues for this week.

We'll see how the Packers use Dillon and Aaron Jones coming off their bye in Week 13, but you should expect both to be heavily involved. That makes Dillon still worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy running back in all leagues. He's been great lately with at least 12 PPR points in four games in a row, including his past three outings with at least 15 PPR points. He should stay hot against the Bears, who have allowed a running back to score at least 13 PPR points in eight games in a row prior to Week 14. Jones is also worth starting as a high-end No. 2 running back in all leagues, and he should be close to 100 percent after dealing with a knee injury prior to Green Bay's bye.

We'll see if Darrell Henderson's thigh improves enough to get him on the field in Week 14 against the Cardinals, but Michel took advantage of Henderson being an emergency running back in Week 13 against Jacksonville. Michel had 24 carries for 121 yards and a touchdown, as well as three catches for 8 yards on four targets. It was around this time last year when Cam Akers started taking over for Henderson, and the same thing could happen with Michel now. Even if Henderson plays, Michel can still be used as a flex option against the Cardinals, who have allowed three running backs to score at least 24.0 PPR points in their past five games. And if Henderson doesn't play again, Michel has top-10 upside in all leagues.

Foreman and Dontrell Hilliard are both worth using this week as starting options against the Jaguars. I would expect Foreman to lead the team in carries, but both should play quite a bit, especially if Jeremy McNichols (concussion) remains out. The last time we saw the Titans it was in Week 12 against the Patriots, and Foreman had 19 carries for 109 yards, as well as one catch for 3 yards on one target, with a lost fumble. Hilliard had 12 carries for 131 yards and a touchdown, along with one catch for 2 yards on two targets. The Titans typically beat up on the Jaguars with Derrick Henry (foot), who has 632 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in his past five games against Jacknsonville. Foreman or Hilliard won't have similar success, but both of them are worth using as at least flex options this week. I like Foreman slightly better as the bigger back in this matchup, and Jacksonville has allowed three running backs to score at least 12 PPR points in the past five games.

Hubbard will start in place of Christian McCaffrey (ankle), and hopefully Hubbard can repeat his performance from Week 8 against the Falcons when McCaffrey was out then also with a hamstring injury. Hubbard had 24 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown against Atlanta, along with one catch for 9 yards. The Falcons have allowed a running back to score at least 14 PPR points in three of their past four games, so Hubbard has the chance to be a low-end starter in all leagues. You can also use Ameer Adullah as a sleeper as well in PPR. In that first meeting with the Falcons, Abdullah had six carries for 25 yards, along with three catches for 35 yards on five targets.

The 49ers could be without their top two running backs this week if Elijah Mitchell (concussion) and Jeff Wilson (knee) are unable to play, as well as Deebo Samuel (groin) still banged up. That would make Hasty the lead option in the backfield against the Bengals. Now, he would probably share work with fullback Kyle Juszczyk, but Hasty has flex appeal in Week 14. Keep in mind the Bengals are without standout linebacker Logan Wilson (shoulder), and Mitchell has been a workhorse with at least 20 total touches in four games in a row. Hasty could be looking at extended action in a positive situation. There's also the scenario of Mitchell being out and Wilson starting, which would make him the sleeper ahead of Hasty. It's a situation to monitor, but Wilson or Hasty could be in a great spot this week.

Penny looked like Seattle's best running back in Week 13 against San Francisco, and hopefully he can be the top option for the Seahawks to close the season. He'll share touches with Adrian Peterson and potentially Alex Collins, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas, but I would gamble on Penny as a flex option this week. Against the 49ers, Penny had 10 carries for 35 yards, along with one catch for 27 yards on one target, and he led Seattle with a 40-percent snap share. Now, Homer and Peterson both scored, although Homer's touchdown was on a fake punt, but Penny should have the most upside. You can use Penny and Peterson as flex options this week, and the Texans have allowed four running backs to score at least 16 PPR points in their past five games.

We'll see if the Bills opt to use three running backs in Week 14 at Tampa Bay with Singletary, Matt Breida and Zack Moss, or Buffalo could make Moss a healthy scratch again like what happened in Week 12. Either way, Singletary's value likely won't change much. He's combined for just 14 PPR points in his past three games, and it's doubtful he'll have much success against Tampa Bay's stout run defense. At best, Singletary is just a flex option in deeper leagues this week.

Henderson might be active again in Week 14 against the Cardinals, but clearly that's not a guarantee he'll play based on what transpired in Week 13 against Jacksonville. Dealing with a thigh injury, the Rams opted to rest Henderson and lean heavily on Michel. The same thing could happen this week, or Michel just might be the lead back of this tandem moving forward. I don't have high hopes for Henderson this week if he's active and on the field, although he did score 15 PPR points against the Cardinals in their Week 4 meeting. However, it doesn't appear like he'll get the 19 total touches he had in that game now that Michel looks like a significant factor in this backfield.

Davis did well last week against Tampa Bay with four carries for 32 yards and a touchdown, along with four catches for 37 yards on four targets, but not much changed for him aside from finding the end zone. He's now gone five games in a row with 10 total touches or less, and his 69 yards against the Buccaneers were the most over that span. He does have three games in a row with at least three catches, so maybe he can be a flex option in deeper PPR leagues. But as long as Cordarrelle Patterson is healthy, Davis isn't trustworthy as a starter in most leagues.

Hunt is more of a bust alert than a must-sit Fantasy option, but this could be a rough outing for him. For starters, we have to make sure he's 100 percent after dealing with a calf injury in his Week 12 meeting with the Ravens. Remember, he missed five games prior to Week 12 with a calf injury, so hopefully this isn't going to be a reoccurring problem. And this is a tough matchup against the Ravens, who haven't allowed a running back to score a touchdown since Week 7. In the first meeting with Baltimore, Nick Chubb and Hunt combined for 15 carries for 36 yards, as well as Chubb catching two passes for 23 yards on four targets. Both will do better than that, but Hunt should only be used as a flex option this week in the majority of leagues.

Urban Meyer seems clueless when it comes to how much Robinson should be playing and when he should be on the field. In Week 13 at the Rams, Robinson was limited to nine total touches, and he played just 44 percent of the snaps. Now, he fumbled for the second game in a row, which is never a good thing, but the Jaguars need to lean on Robinson as much as possible. Given the uncertainty of his workload, you should consider Robinson just a borderline starter or flex. He had a monster game against the Titans in Week 5 with 21 PPR points, and hopefully he can do that again. But he also could leave you with a minimal stat line like he did at the Rams, and he's scored 11 PPR points or less in three games in a row.

Brown has gone four games in a row without a touchdown, and he's been held to 55 receiving yards or less in three games in a row. He's due for a big outing, and he's still getting at least seven targets a week during his slump, which is encouraging. You should continue to start him in all leagues, and hopefully he'll break out against the Browns. Against Cleveland in Week 12, Brown had 10 targets and eight catches, but he only managed 51 receiving yards. I'll take my chances with Brown getting 10 targets and eight catches most weeks because big production should follow, so hopefully the targets and receptions stay the same in the rematch in Week 14.

Moore is averaging 15.0 PPR points per game in two starts with Cam Newton, and now Moore is the best player for the Panthers with Christian McCaffrey (ankle) out. He had 10 targets at Miami in Week 12, and it would be great if he gets double digits in targets on a weekly basis. He has six games this season with at least 10 targets, and he scored at least 13 PPR points in five of those outings. Now, he was held to just nine PPR points at Atlanta in Week 8 on four catches for 59 yards on eight targets, but I expect him to improve with Newton under center for the rematch.

Landry's best game of the season came in Week 12 at Baltimore with six catches for 111 yards on 10 targets, and hopefully that's a sign of things to come. The Ravens also just lost top cornerback Marlon Humphrey (chest) for the season, so Baltimore's secondary is in rough shape. Landry has 18 targets in his past two outings, and he's averaging 14.0 PPR points over that span. He has the chance to finish the season strong and is worth starting in all leagues in Week 14. I also like Donovan Peoples-Jones as a sleeper this week, and you can use him as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in most formats.

Cooper struggled last week against the Saints with just two catches for 41 yards on two targets. He was dealing with an illness after missing two games because he was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. But he's had extra time to rest since the Saints game was Thursday night, and he has a solid history against Washington. In his past five games against Washington, Cooper has scored at least 13 PPR points in each outing, with four touchdowns over that span. Last year, in two meetings with Washington, Cooper had 13 catches for 192 yards and a touchdown. I'm back to trusting Cooper as a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues.

Gage has stepped up in place of Calvin Ridley (personal) as the lead receiver in Atlanta, and he's playing well coming into Week 14 against Carolina. He's scored at least 18 PPR points in two games in a row against Jacksonville and Tampa Bay with 19 targets, 17 catches, 192 yards and a touchdown over that span. He's also scored at least 12 PPR points in four of his past seven outings, and hopefully he can stay productive against Carolina in Week 14. Now, Gage was shut out in Week 8 against the Panthers with no targets, but that was the first game without Ridley. Things have changed for Gage since then, and he has at least seven targets in three games in a row. I like him as a borderline No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues, with his value higher in PPR.

Jones is expected to return to action this week after being out since Week 9 with a hamstring injury, and hopefully the best of Jones is yet to come. He's been a disappointment this season, scoring more than eight PPR points just once with no touchdowns, but I'm hoping that he can finish strong, especially with A.J. Brown (chest) out for two more games. Jones should get the majority of targets from Ryan Tannehill, and Jones is worth using as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues for Week 14 against Jacksonville if he plays.

Osborn has a big opportunity in front of him with Adam Thielen (ankle) banged up, and hopefully he can take advantage of it against the Steelers on Thursday night. If Thielen is out, Osborn should see a bump in targets, making him a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues. He has five games this season with at least six targets, and Osborn has scored at least 14 PPR points in four of them. If Thielen is out as expected then you should be excited to start Osborn this week.

Jefferson and Odell Beckham are both worth using this week as No. 3 Fantasy receivers. Like last week, I like Jefferson slightly better than Beckham, but Matthew Stafford should lean on both guys in what's expected to be a high-scoring game with the Cardinals (the over/under is 52 points). Jefferson has 17 targets in his past two games for nine catches, 134 yards and two touchdowns, and Beckham has 15 targets for seven catches, 109 yards and two touchdowns over that span.

Valdes-Scantling will hopefully continue to stay involved in the offense coming off his bye in Week 13. He has 19 targets in his past two games against Minnesota and the Rams, and he did well against the Vikings with four catches for 123 yards and a touchdown in Week 11. He's never going to be a high-volume catch guy, but he does have game-winning upside for Fantasy managers. He's worth using as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues for Week 14 against Chicago.

Corey Davis (groin) is out, and Elijah Moore (quad) is banged up. We hope Moore is able to play, and he's become a must-start Fantasy receiver in all leagues when healthy. But if Moore is out then Crowder should see plenty of targets from Zach Wilson. Even if Moore plays, Crowder should be heavily involved since Davis is out. He just had six targets in Week 13 against the Eagles and finished with four catches for 62 yards. I would expect a little better production from him this week against the Saints, who are No. 5 in Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers.

Gallup has been great for the past two games, averaging 14.5 PPR points per game against the Raiders and Saints. He has three games in a row with at least eight targets, but I'm afraid his production is about to decline. Most of his stats over the past three games have come with CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper missing time, but both should be at full strength now. Gallup can still be productive, but he's only gone over 44 receiving yards once in his past three outings, which was the game where Lamb and Cooper were both out against the Raiders in Week 12. Gallup is a boom-or-bust No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues in Week 14.

Even though the Bills should be throwing a lot in Week 14 at Tampa Bay, I'm nervous for Sanders and Cole Beasley, who hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 6 and has combined for just 20 PPR points in his past five games. This game should be all about Stefon Diggs and Dawson Knox, with Sanders, Beasley and potentially Gabriel Davis getting sprinkled into the action based on their recent production. Sanders and Beasley are only worth starting in deeper leagues.

Green had a solid game against the Rams in Week 4 with five catches for 67 yards and a touchdown on six targets, but he's struggled since then. Part of it has been Kyler Murray missing three games with an ankle injury, but Green has one touchdown since Week 4 and four games with nine PPR points or less in his past seven outings. There are plenty of mouths to feed in Arizona, and Green could continue to be left out. He's only worth using as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in deeper leagues.

Another week, another bad performance for Sutton with Jerry Jeudy on the field in Week 13 at Kansas City when he had two catches for 15 yards on six targets. Sutton has now combined for 19 PPR points in his past five games, and he can't be trusted in Denver's run-first offense. It's a favorable matchup for him against the Lions, but Sutton has been at six targets, two catches and 40 yards or less in five games in a row, with no touchdowns over that span. It's time to look elsewhere if you're still starting him.

Cooks has been struggling lately, and it's hard to consider him a must-start Fantasy receiver heading into Week 14 against the Seahawks. He has one touchdown in his past four games and has been held to 45 yards or less in three games in a row. He also has six targets or less in three games in a row. Davis Mills could take over for Tyrod Taylor (wrist) this week, which could help Cooks. But Seattle has been great against opposing receivers all season, allowing just seven touchdowns to the position and no scores in the past four games. Cooks should be considered just a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in the majority of leagues.

Conklin should benefit with Adam Thielen (ankle) likely out, and Conklin has done well when he's had at least seven targets. Kmet gets Justin Fields (ribs) back under center this week, and hopefully they can pick up where they left off before Fields got hurt. In Week 9 at Pittsburgh, Kmet had six catches for 87 yards on eight targets from Fields. Kmet had mixed results with Andy Dalton under center, but I'll use Kmet as a low-end starter this week against the Packers with Fields. Hooper could get an uptick in targets, and Njoku just had three catches for 35 yards and a touchdown on five targets against the Ravens in Week 12.
