  The Twins optioned Rojas to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday. Rojas was one of nine players sent out of big-league camp in the Twins' latest round of roster cuts. Minnesota added the 23-year-old southpaw to the 40-man roster this offseason after he impressed across four levels between his time in the Blue Jays and Twins organizations in 2025, finishing with a 4.70 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 90:32 K:BB in 69 innings.

• Twins' Kendry Rojas: Gets spot on 40-man roster

  The Twins selected Rojas' contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports. Acquired from the Blue Jays in the Louis Varland trade, Rojas struggled in eight starts for St. Paul down the stretch, holding a 6.59 ERA and 28:23 K:BB over 27.1 innings. However, the 22-year-old southpaw has swing-and-miss stuff, having fanned 90 in 69 frames between his various minor-league stops in 2025. Rojas is now on the 40-man roster and protected from the Rule 5 Draft.

• Twins' Kendry Rojas: Sent to Minnesota

  The Twins acquired Rojas and Alan Roden from the Blue Jays on Thursday in exchange for Louis Varland and Ty France, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports. Rojas was one of Toronto's top pitching prospects and helped the organization to acquire some help at the deadline. The 22-year-old has seen action across four minor-league levels this season and has a 3.46 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 62:9 K:BB across 41.2 innings. He's made just four appearances at Double-A and one at Triple-A, so he'll likely need more time in the upper minors before making his MLB debut.

• Blue Jays' Kendry Rojas: Bumped up to Triple-A

  The Blue Jays are expected to promote Rojas from Double-A New Hampshire to Triple-A Buffalo this week, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports. Rojas got off to a delayed start to the 2025 campaign after suffering a midsection injury in spring training that kept him out for about two months, but he's been electric since debuting in late May. After tossing 13 scoreless innings in his four starts with High-A Vancouver, Rojas was promoted to New Hampshire in early July and has continued to overwhelm hitters. In four outings at Double-A, Rojas has submitted a 4.34 ERA, but his stellar 30:2 K:BB in 18.2 innings provides a better illustration of his dominance.

  Rojas struck out 10 without walking a batter and allowed just two hits over five scoreless innings in his second start for Double-A New Hampshire on Thursday. The 22-year-old southpaw got a belated start to his season due to an abdominal injury, but Rojas appears intent on making up for lost time. A converted outfielder, Rojas has had trouble staying healthy since moving to the mound, but he boasts a mid-90s fastball with a slider and changeup, and a smooth, athletic delivery that has led to rapid improvement in both his raw stuff and his control. After posting a 2.43 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 61:12 K:BB over 55.2 innings at High-A last year, Rojas could be poised to take another big step forward in the second half of 2025.

• Blue Jays' Kendry Rojas: Shelved at High-A

  High-A Vancouver placed Rojas on the 7-day injured list April 23 with an undisclosed injury. The 21-year-old Cuban southpaw gave up three earned runs while recording just two outs in his first start of the year and followed that up with five scoreless innings in his second start before landing on the shelf. Rojas had a 3.75 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 82 strikeouts in 84 innings at Single-A Dunedin in 2023.
