  • Browns' Sam Kamara: Staying in Cleveland

Kamara is slated to re-sign with the Browns, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports. The 28-year-old from Stony Brook is now in line to remain in Cleveland after spending his last four seasons with the team. Kamara has played in just 15 regular-season games over the last two seasons, recording 21 total tackles across 358 defensive snaps. He's expected to remain a depth piece on the Browns' defensive line during the 2026 season.

  • Sam Kamara: Now unrestricted free agent

The Browns did not tender Kamara on Monday, making the Stony Brook product an unrestricted free agent, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. Kamara would have been a restricted free agent had the Browns placed a tender on him, but he'll now have the opportunity to sign with a team without the offer being matched by Cleveland. Kamara spent the majority of the 2025 season on the Browns' practice squad before signing to the team's active roster in early December, finishing with six tackles (three solo) across four games. He'll look to join a team in need of defensive line depth.

  • Browns' Sam Kamara: Practices fully Wednesday

Kamara was not listed on Wednesday's injury report. Kamara has missed the Browns' last two games with an elbow injury. He should return to a rotational role along Cleveland's defensive line in Week 18 against the Bengals.

  • Browns' Sam Kamara: Inactive for Week 17

Kamara (elbow) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Steelers. Kamara missed the Browns' Week 16 loss to the Bills due to an elbow injury and will now miss consecutive games with the issue. The rotational defensive tackle's snap share will likely be transferred to fellow tackle Mike Hall. Adin Huntington may also see an increased defensive snap share in Kamara's absence.

  • Browns' Sam Kamara: Questionable to play vs. Pittsburgh

Kamara (elbow) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Steelers, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Kamara was limited in practice all week due to an elbow injury that prevented him from playing against the Bills in Week 16. If he's unable to play Sunday, then Mike Hall and Adin Huntington would see more rotational snaps on the defensive line behind Shelby Harris and Mason Graham.

  • Browns' Sam Kamara: Not available vs. Buffalo

Kamara (elbow) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bills. Kamara was a limited practice participant during Week 16 prep due to an elbow injury, which is severe enough for him to be sidelined for Sunday's contest. Mike Hall (illness) is also inactive, so the Browns will lean on Adin Huntington, Keith Cooper and Maurice Hurst to serve as the rotational defensive tackles behind Shelby Harris and Mason Graham. Kamara's next opportunity to play is Week 17 against the Steelers on Sunday, Dec. 28.

  • Browns' Sam Kamara: Could play in Week 16

Kamara (elbow) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Bills, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. The 27-year-old opened the Browns' week of practice with consecutive limited sessions, and it appears he has a chance to suit up Sunday. If Kamara is sidelined in Week 16, Mike Hall (illness, questionable) and Adin Huntington (quadriceps, questionable) could serve as the Browns' top reserve interior defensive linemen.

Kamara (concussion) was a limited participant in Cleveland's practice Wednesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Kamara has missed the team's past two games due to a concussion but managed to return to practice Wednesday. However, the 26-year-old will still have to clear the league's concussion protocol in order to be able to play Sunday versus Kansas City.

  • Sam Kamara: Placed on practice squad COVID-19 list

Kamara was placed on the Bears' practice squad COVID-19 list Tuesday. Kamara has played in five games this season for the Bears, recording five tackles (four solo). With Roquan Smith (hamstring) currently questionable for Monday against the Vikings, Kamara was looking at another possible shot on the active roster. Kamara is vaccinated, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports, which means he could return in time to be available Monday, if he is able to produce two negative COVID tests at least 24 hours apart.
