  Marsh is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers. Marsh will get his first breather of 2026 after he went 3-for-8 with two doubles and two RBI through the Phillies' first two contests. Though he'll be on the bench versus southpaw MacKenzie Gore, the left-handed-hitting Marsh won't necessarily be used as a strict platoon player for Philadelphia. Justin Crawford will be included in the lineup Sunday, but he's also a left-handed batter who could be a candidate to occasionally cede center field to Marsh against southpaws.

Marsh jammed the hand into the ground during sliding practice. There don't appear to be any plans to send him for imaging, as the Phillies are simply exercising caution early in camp. Marsh is in line to be the Phillies' primary left fielder this season after slashing .280/.342/.443 with 11 home runs over 133 regular-season contests in 2025.

  The Phillies and Marsh avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $5.2 million contract Thursday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Marsh had been eligible for arbitration for a second time. The outfielder slashed .280/.342/.443 with 11 home runs across 133 regular-season contests for the Phillies in 2025. Marsh is slated to open 2026 as the team's primary left fielder and will likely see most of his starts versus right-handed pitching.

  The Phillies reinstated Marsh (hamstring) from the injured list Saturday, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. A strained right hamstring has kept Marsh on the injured list since April 20. He began a minor-league rehab assignment four days later, but his time in the minors was extended slightly after he left a game early with a cramp in the same hamstring. Now, after going 6-for-20 with a homer, six RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases in six rehab games, Marsh will return to Philadelphia and presumably reclaim his usual role in center field. Cal Stevenson was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.
