Boyd (hamstring) went 0-for-4 with a walk in High-A Lake County's game Tuesday versus Quad Cities.
Boyd had missed all of the season with the hamstring injury. The outfield prospect should soon be getting back into an everyday role. A strong performance with Lake County could see the 22-year-old promoted to Double-A Akron over the summer.

Guardians' Justin Boyd: Out with hamstring injury
Rotowire
Boyd is being held back in extended spring training as he recovers from a hamstring injury, Jim Callis of MLB.com reports.
The 22-year-old outfielder was dealt to Cleveland in the offseason trade that sent Will Benson to Cincinnati. Once healthy, Boyd will likely head to Single-A or High-A. He struck out 29 times in 21 games at the Single-A level last season after getting drafted with the 73rd overall pick.

Guardians' Justin Boyd: Headed to Cleveland
Rotowire
The Guardians acquired Boyd and a player to be named later from the Reds in exchange for Will Benson on Wednesday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
The Reds selected Boyd with the 73rd pick of the 2022 MLB Draft out of Oregon State. The 21-year-old outfielder struggled in his first professional season while slashing .203/.277/.270, but that came in a sample of just 74 at-bats over 22 games between rookie ball and Low-A Daytona. Boyd has excellent speed and is a terrific defender in the outfield, so while his offensive upside doesn't compete with elite prospects, those tools do give him a chance to be a starter someday.
