Player Outlook
Steele Hall is one of the younger prospects from the 2025 draft class after reclassifying, as he turned 18 a couple weeks after the draft, and he is one of the more mysterious prospects in the top 100. The Reds selected Hall ninth overall, but he didn't play in any official games after signing and the reports about his performance in the unofficial bridge league were mixed. A no-doubt shortstop from Alabama, the 6-foot Hall is a premium athlete with 80-grade speed and the actions to stick at the six. The quality of his hit tool and future power are tougher to project, but he added 15-20 pounds of muscle in 2025 and has a chance to be a 20-homer hitter at peak. Hall has great bat speed but struggles a bit with secondary stuff, which isn't uncommon for a player his age. His speed gives him a very high ceiling if he can max out as a hitter, and his defense gives him a chance to be an everyday player who hits near the bottom of the order even if he's not much of an offensive producer. Hall could finish the season as a top 10 fantasy prospect, but he could also finish the year outside the top 150, depending on how well he performs against full-season pitching. The Reds are known for holding prep hitters back in rookie ball, so Hall may not make his Single-A debut until the summer.
