  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Won't play Christmas Day

Mitchell (concussion) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Spurs, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports. Mitchell will miss a second consecutive game while in the league's concussion protocol, which he'll look to clear in time to return for Sunday's game against the 76ers. Cason Wallace, Isaiah Joe and Alex Caruso will continue to see more minutes off the bench in Mitchell's absence.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Ruled out Tuesday

Mitchell (concussion) will not play Tuesday against the Spurs. After leaving Monday's game early, Mitchell has since been diagnosed with a concussion. That makes it unlikely that he'll be cleared in time for Christmas Day against the Spurs. Alex Caruso, Isaiah Joe and Cason Wallace could see more reps in Mitchell's absence.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Does not return Monday

Mitchell (undisclosed) exited Monday's 119-103 win over Memphis in the fourth quarter and did not return. Mitchell headed to the back with 6:29 remaining in the final quarter and did not check back in. He finished with 16 points (7-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and two steals in 22 minutes. His status will be worth monitoring ahead of Tuesday's matchup against the Spurs.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Leaves for locker room

Mitchell (undisclosed) exited to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Monday's game against the Grizzlies, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports. It's unclear why Mitchell left for the locker room, though he checked out with 6:29 remaining in the final quarter. If he's unable to return in the final minutes, he'll finish with 16 points (7-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and two steals in 22 minutes.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Productive off bench Thursday

Mitchell ended with 16 points (7-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in 29 minutes off the bench during Thursday's 122-101 win over the Clippers. Nine of those points came in the fourth quarter, as Mitchell took advantage of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander getting pulled early in the big win. It was the first time in five games that Mitchell scored in double digits, while the seven boards tied his season high. The second-year guard typically doesn't see that kind of shot volume -- he last attempted double-digit field goals against the Jazz on Nov. 21. Through six games (two starts) to begin December, Mitchell is averaging 10.0 points, 3.7 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.2 threes in 26.0 minutes a contest despite shooting 50.0 percent from the floor and 46.7 percent (7-for-15) from long distance.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Moving back to second unit

Mitchell will come off the bench for Friday's game against Dallas, Rylan Stiles of SI.com reports. Mitchell started Tuesday's contest due to Luguentz Dort's (thigh) absence, and while Dort remains out Friday, the Thunder are instead going big with Jaylin Williams against Dallas. In 16 games off the bench, Mitchell is averaging 14.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 steals across 25.4 minutes per contest.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Productive off bench

Mitchell totaled 17 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds, five assists and one steal in 29 minutes during Sunday's 123-115 win over Portland. Another game, another instance where Mitchell shows his worth as a versatile combo guard who can make an impact on both ends of the court. Mitchell was limited to five minutes Friday against the Suns due to a left knee contusion, but that injury didn't bother him at all Sunday. Excluding that early exit against the Suns, Mitchell has scored in double digits in all but one game this season while coming off the bench in all but five games. He's averaging 15.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Won't return Friday

Mitchell has been ruled out for the remainder of Friday's game against the Suns due to a left knee contusion, Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports. Mitchell's night will be cut short due to a bruised knee. He'll finish the contest scoreless (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt) with one assist across five minutes. His early departure snaps a streak of 11 consecutive games scoring in double figures. While Mitchell is sidelined, look for Alex Caruso and Isaiah Joe to pick up additional minutes. Mitchell's next chance to play will come Sunday in Portland.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Stuffs stat sheet in win

Mitchell chipped in 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 31 minutes during Tuesday's 126-102 victory over the Warriors. The second-year guard has scored at least 17 points in each of his four starts this season, and he is enjoying a breakout season in the first few weeks of the 2025-26 campaign. Mitchell is likely to remain in the starting five if Luguentz Dort (shoulder) remains sidelined, but fantasy managers should feel confident in his chances to keep producing even if he returns to the bench. Mitchell is averaging 16.1 points per game when playing with the second unit this season.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Massive stat line in win

Mitchell accumulated 21 points (8-15 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, four assists and three steals across 32 minutes during Sunday's 114-100 win over Memphis. Mitchell continues to enjoy a breakout season and posted another loaded stat line as a starter. Due to injuries, he's been in the first unit in each of the Thunder's last three games and has scored at least 18 points each time. Furthermore, Mitchell has surpassed the 15-point mark eight times already after doing so just twice in the 2024-25 campaign. The second-year guard is averaging a robust line of 17.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.8 steals across 28.0 minutes per game in his first 10 games this season.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Records double-double in blowout

Mitchell chipped in 18 points (5-12 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds, 10 assists, one block and three steals in 31 minutes during Friday's 132-101 victory over the Kings. Mitchell made his second start of the season with Luguentz Dort (shoulder) still sidelined, but Mitchell did the most damage once Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took a seat in the lopsided victory. He scored 12 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter, extending the lead during a decisive win for the Thunder.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Posts 21 points in spot start

Mitchell closed with 21 points (7-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 7-7 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 121-119 loss to Portland. Mitchell earned a spot with the first unit amid Luguentz Dort's (shoulder) recent injury, and he made the most of the opportunity with his second-highest point total of the season. Wednesday marked Mitchell's first start of the season, but he's also posted impressive totals coming off the bench for the Thunder. Through nine games, Mitchell has averaged 16.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals. He's also converting shots at a rate of 45.8 percent.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Added to injury report

Mitchell is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Clippers due to a bilateral gluteal contusion. Mitchell evidently picked up the injury at some point during Sunday's game against the Pelicans. The team will presumably monitor him closely leading up to tipoff before providing another update on his availability.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Continues strong season

Mitchell ended Monday's 101-94 win over the Mavericks with 17 points (7-14 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one steal in 27 minutes. Mitchell scored at least 14 points for the fourth straight game, continuing what has been a surprising start to the season. While his playing time has been inconsistent, his production has made a lot of people sit up and take notice. While there are certainly no guarantees, Mitchell is worth taking a flier on, just in case he can turn this short-term production into long-term value.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Fills box score off bench

Mitchell registered 14 points (6-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt), seven assists, seven rebounds and two steals over 29 minutes during the Thunder's 117-110 win over the Hawks on Saturday. Mitchell had another nice game off the bench Saturday, leading the bench in scoring and the Thunder in assists while finishing third in rebounds behind Chet Holmgren (12) and Isaiah Hartenstein (10). Mitchell averaged just 16.6 minutes per game last season, but he has gotten extended run early in the 2025-26 campaign due to the absences of Isaiah Joe (knee), Alex Caruso (concussion) and Jalen Williams (wrist).

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Explodes for 26 points in win

Mitchell closed Thursday's 141-135 double-overtime win over the Pacers with 26 points (9-19 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 8-8 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one steal in 38 minutes. Fresh off a 16-point performance in the season opener, Mitchell delivered once again, going off to the tune of 26 points. The Thunder were without a number of key players, affording Mitchell an opportunity to shine on the big stage once again. While his role will likely reduce once the roster is back to full health, his early-season production definitely has him on the fantasy radar, even in standard formats.

Mitchell (leg) didn't play in Tuesday's 116-112 preseason win over the Bucks. His final opportunity to suit up during the preseason will come Friday against the Nuggets.

Mitchell was in a tremendous amount of pain and was helped off the court by two trainers, putting minimal weight on his left leg. It's unclear if he'll be able to return to action.

Mitchell (ankle) has been cleared to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Pacers, Nick Gallo of the Thunder's official site reports. Even though he'll be back on the floor, the team will have only 10 players available Saturday.
