  • 49ers' Clelin Ferrell: Monster performance vs. Browns

Ferrell compiled nine tackles (six solo), including 2.0 sacks, during San Francisco's win over the Browns on Sunday. Ferrell had one of the best outings of his career, leading the team in both tackles and sacks. The 28-year-old has been productive across his limited playing time this season, tallying 14 tackles (nine solo), including 4.0 sacks, in just four games. He is now just 0.5 sacks shy of his career-best mark set during his rookie season in 2019.

  • 49ers' Tatum Bethune: Approaching return to action

Bethune (ankle) is closing in on a return to action, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Bethune has missed the team's last two contests while nursing a high-ankle sprain, and head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that the linebacker has "a chance" to play in Week 15 against the Titans following the team's bye week in Week 14. With Fred Warner (ankle) done for season, Bethune has taken over as the team's starting middle linebacker, so his return will be rather significant for San Francisco.

  • 49ers' Nick Martin: Enters concussion protocol

Martin has entered the league's concussion protocol and has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Browns, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. The 49ers are on a bye in Week 14, so Martin will have additional time to progress through and clear the league's concussion protocol before San Francisco's Week 15 clash against Tennessee on Sunday, Dec. 14. The rookie third-rounder has contributed mostly on special teams, but his absence further depletes a 49ers linebacker corps that is without Tatum Bethune (ankle) and Fred Warner (ankle - IR).

  • 49ers' Nick Martin: Being evaluated for concussion

Martin has exited Sunday's game against the Browns and is being evaluated for a possible concussion, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. • 49ers' Robert Beal: Looking good for Sunday

Beal (concussion) does not carry an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game at Cleveland, Noah Furtado of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Beal sat out Week 12 versus the Panthers as he recovered from a concussion he sustained in Week 11 at Arizona, but it looks like he's on track to return in Week 13. With Sam Okuayinonu listed as out with an ankle injury, Beal could be in line for an expanded role on the edge Sunday.

  • 49ers' Luke Gifford: Will play Sunday

Gifford (hip/neck) is good to go for San Francisco's matchup versus the Browns on Sunday, Noah Furtado of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Gifford will continue to play through the hip and neck injuries that he's been dealing with for a few weeks. The 30-year-old should once again serve as one of the team's starting linebackers during Sunday's matchup.

  • 49ers' Tatum Bethune: Out for Week 13

Bethune (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Browns, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. With Bethune sidelined, Curtis Robinson is expected to make another start at middle linebacker for the Niners.

  • 49ers' Tatum Bethune: Logs another DNP

The 49ers listed Bethune (ankle) as a DNP on Thursday's practice report, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Bethune is working through a right high-ankle sprain, which forced him to be sidelined for the 49ers' Week 12 win over the Panthers. He would give himself a chance to play against the Browns on Sunday with a return to practice Friday, but if he's ruled out for Week 13, then Curtis Robinson would likely start at linebacker for a second straight week.

  • 49ers' Robert Beal: Full practice Wednesday

Beal (concussion) logged a full practice Wednesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Beal was sidelined for Monday's win against the Panthers due to a concussion. His return to a full practice is a good sign, but it's unclear if he has cleared the league's concussion protocol -- a requirement for him to be active for a Week 13 matchup against the Browns.

  • Eric Kendricks: Signs with San Francisco

Kendricks signed with the 49ers' practice squad Wednesday. With Fred Warner (ankle) on injured reserve and Tatum Bethune (ankle) dinged up, Kendricks is joining San Francisco as experienced linebacker depth. Kendricks started 15 games with Dallas last regular season, piling up 138 tackles (71 solo), including 3.0 sacks, three forced fumbles and three pass breakups, including a pair of interceptions.

  • 49ers' Luke Gifford: Limited to open week

Gifford (hip/neck) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Gifford was active in Week 12 against the Panthers, but he did not log a snap in the team's 20-9 win over the Panthers. The linebacker has been nursing both hip and neck injuries at practice, so his limited participation Wednesday doesn't come as a surprise. Gifford will have two more chances to practice in full prior to Sunday's matchup with Cleveland.

  • 49ers' Sam Okuayinonu: Set to miss Week 13

Okuayinonu (ankle) is expected to miss multiple weeks, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Okuayinonu suffered an ankle injury in the team's 20-9 victory over the Panthers on Monday Night Football, and he is now set to "miss a couple weeks," according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. With the 49ers set to be idle in Week 14, it's possible that the defensive lineman's absence is limited to just one game. In the meantime, Robert Beal (concussion), Keion White and Clelin Ferrell are candidates to step into a starting role on San Francisco's defensive line against the Browns on Sunday.

  • 49ers' Yetur Gross-Matos: Will remain on IR

Head coach Kyle Shanahan relayed Wednesday that the 49ers will not designate Gross-Matos (knee) to return from injured reserve, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Gross-Matos missed three games in October before landing on injured reserve Nov. 1 due to a hip injury. This Sunday's game against the Browns will mark his eighth-straight missed game, and with the 49ers on a bye Week 14, his next opportunity to play is Week 15 against the Titans on Sunday, Dec. 14.

Stout recorded six tackles (two solo) with one pass defensed in Monday's 20-9 win over the Panthers. Stout continued to play a part-time role in the San Francisco defense, as he was on the field for 27 of 46 defensive snaps while manning the slot. While that keeps his snap rate in check, Stout has at least six tackles in four of his last five games.

  • 49ers' Dee Winters: Minimal production against Caroina

Winters recorded one tackle (one solo) in Monday's 20-9 win over the Panthers. Winters was on the field for all 46 of San Francisco's defensive snaps, but he had his least productive game of the season. It was an odd game script with Carolina attempting only 13 rushes, so Winters should bounce back in Week 13 against the Browns.

  • 49ers' Sam Okuayinonu: Exits game with ankle injury

Okuayinonu (ankle) is questionable to return to Monday's game against Carolina, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Per Barrows, Okuayinonu has been laboring through an ankle injury for most of Monday's game. With Robert Beal (concussion) inactive, Keion White and Clelin Ferrell will see more snaps at defensive end opposite Bryce Huff for as long as Okuayinonu is out of the game.

  • 49ers' Robert Beal: Inactive for Week 12

Beal (concussion) is inactive for Monday's game against the Panthers, Briana Jeannel of the 49ers' official site reports. Beal was unable to practice during Week 12 prep while in the league's concussion protocol, which he wasn't able to clear ahead of Monday's contest. The third-year defensive lineman will aim to return to practice in the hopes that he can play against the Browns on Sunday. Keion White and Clelin Ferrell are in line for a slight increase in rotational snaps at defensive end in Beal's absence.
