  • Packers' Brenton Cox: Active Saturday

Cox (groin) is listed as active for Saturday night's game against the Bears, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports. Cox is set to see his first game action since being moved to injured reserve Sept. 11. The defensive end will return just in time to reinforce a Packers defensive line that is reeling at the loss of Micah Parsons (ACL). Cox could receive some rotational snaps at defensive end behind Rashan Gary, Kingsley Enagbare, Arron Mosby and Lukas Van Ness.

  • Packers' Brenton Cox: Could return Saturday

Cox (groin) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Bears, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. Cox was once again a full participant in practice and could be activated off injured reserve for Saturday's divisional contest. The defensive end has seen just eight defensive snaps this season, but with the season-ending injury to Micah Parsons (knee) in last Sunday's loss to the Broncos, Saturday's game would serve as the ideal time for Cox to return to the field.

  • Packers' Brenton Cox: Won't play at Denver

Cox (groin) is officially listed as out for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. Despite being a full participant at practice Friday, Cox will remain on the injured reserve list in Week 15 as he continues to recover from the groin injury he sustained in Week 1 versus the Lions. His absence could mean that rookie fourth-rounder Barryn Sorrell continues to see increased reps.

  • Packers' Brenton Cox: Designated to return from IR

Cox (groin) was designated to return from injured reserve Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Cox has been sidelined since suffering a groin injury in the team's Week 1 win over the Lions, but he's now geared up to make his return to the practice field. The Packers will now have a 21-day window to activate the 25-year-old or he'll remain on IR for the rest of the year.

  • Packers' Brenton Cox: Records 4.0 sacks on limited snaps

Cox finished the 2024 season with 12 tackles (eight solo), including 4.0 sacks, and one forced fumble across seven regular-season contests. Cox signed with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent out of Florida following the 2023 NFL Draft and played four defensive snaps as a rookie. A healthy inactive for the first nine games of the season, Cox didn't see his first action of the 2024 campaign until Week 11 against the Bears, where he recorded 1.0 sacks on 22 snaps. Cox was a prominent member of the Packers' edge rotation the rest of the way and finished fourth on the team in sacks despite playing a total of 160 defensive snaps. On a per-snap basis, Cox was one of the most productive edge rushers in the league, recording seven QB hits and five tackles for loss. Look for the coaching staff to give Cox an even longer look this offseason.

  • Packers' Brenton Cox: Active for wild-card round

Cox (foot) is active for Sunday's NFC wild-card game against the Eagles, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports. Cox was unable to play in the Packers' regular-season finale against the Bears due to a foot injury he picked up in Week 17 against the Vikings. He was a limited participant in practice all week, and he's progressed enough in his recovery to play in Sunday's wild-card game. Cox and Kingsley Enagbare will serve as the Packers' top rotational defensive ends behind starters Rashan Gary and Lukas Van Ness.

  • Packers' Brenton Cox: Could suit up in wild-card game

Cox (foot) is questionable to play in Sunday's wild-card contest against Philadelphia, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. Cox hurt his foot Week 17 against Minnesota and didn't play in Green Bay's regular-season finale versus Chicago. He was able to log a trio of limited practices this week, and his ability to play in Sunday's wild-card matchup may not be known until about 90 minutes prior to the 4:30 p.m. ET kickoff. When healthy this season, Cox has played a rotational role at defensive end, and he has buoyed the Packers' pass rush with 4.0 sacks over seven games.

  • Packers' Brenton Cox: Picks up foot injury

Cox (foot) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimation, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Cox appears to have sustained a foot injury in Green Bay's Week 17 loss to the Vikings, despite playing 33 total snaps (27 defensive and six on special teams) and failing to record a stat. The Florida product has been one of the Packers' most productive edge rushers since the team traded Preston Smith to the Steelers in early November, recording 12 total tackles, including 4.0 sacks, and one forced fumble in just seven appearances this season. Cox likely needs to upgrade to at least limited practice participation Thursday or Friday in order to play in the Week 18 matchup against the Bears.
