  • Bears' Darnell Wright: Green light to play Monday

Wright (elbow) does not carry an injury designation into Monday's game against Washington. Wright was a full participant in Saturday's practice, which was enough for the Bears to clear Wright to play Monday after he was sidelined for Chicago's Week 4 win over Las Vegas. He'll reclaim his starting job at right tackle while Theo Benedet and rookie second-rounder Ozzy Trapilo provide depth at the position.

  • Bears' Darnell Wright: Out for Week 4

Wright (elbow) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raiders. With Wright out, either Theo Benedet or rookie Ozzy Trapilo figures to draw the start at right tackle for Chicago. Wright will have next week's bye to heal up ahead of a Week 6 game at Washington.

  • Bears' Darnell Wright: Dealing with elbow injury

Head coach Ben Johnson told reporters that Wright injured his elbow during Sunday's 31-14 win over the Cowboys, Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. While Johnson relayed the injury isn't a long-term concern, Wright's practice participation over the coming week will determine his availability for the Bears' Week 4 clash against the Raiders on Sunday, Sept. 28. Theo Benedet and rookie second-rounder Ozzy Trapilo would be candidates to start at right tackle if Wright were to miss time.

  • Bears' Darnell Wright: Past knee issue

Wright (knee) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Packers. The 2023 first-round pick from Tennessee opened the Bears' week of practice with consecutive limited sessions, but he upgraded to a full workload Friday, suggesting that he's moved past his knee issue in time for Sunday's divisional matchup. Now that Wright has returned to full health, he's expected to serve as Chicago's top right tackle in Week 11.

  • Bears' Darnell Wright: Missing Week 10

Wright (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Patriots. Wright sustained an MCL sprain in the Bears' Week 9 loss to the Cardinals and didn't practice all week, so it's no surprise he'll miss Sunday's contest. Matt Pryor is expected to start at right tackle while Wright is sidelined in Week 10.

  • Bears' Darnell Wright: Done for night

Wright (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's contest against the Cardinals, Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network reports. Wright suffered a knee injury in the second half, ultimately ending up with him being unable to return to the contest. In his place, Jake Curhan took over at right tackle versus Arizona.

  • Bears' Darnell Wright: Good to go for Week 4

Wright (back) was a full participant in Friday's practice and does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Rams. Wright was a DNP to start the week due to a shoulder injury, but he increased his practice participation in each of the next two sessions. He will serve as the Bears' starting right tackle for Sunday's contest.

  • Bears' Darnell Wright: Dealing with injury

Wright (back) will not practice Wednesday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports. Wright is considered day-to-day, according to head coach Matt Eberflus. He'll have the opportunity to return to the practice field Thursday, which he may need to do if he's going to play Sunday against the Rams.

  • Bears' Darnell Wright: Records DNP on Thursday

Wright (shoulder) did not participate in Thursday's practice. Wright may have suffered a shoulder injury during the Bears' Week 6 loss to the Vikings, as he popped up on the team's injury report Wednesday. Chicago's rookie tackle could be trending in the wrong direction to play this coming Sunday against the Raiders, going from limited participation in Wednesday's practice to non-participant status Thursday.

  • Bears' Darnell Wright: Goes 10th overall to Chicago

The Bears selected Wright in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft, 10th overall. While Wright might not be able to line up at left tackle in all schemes -- his modest reach (33 and 3/4-inch arms) being the main concern -- the former Tennessee standout should be fine at right tackle at the very least. While his reach isn't ideal for a tackle, Wright is a memorably massive lineman (6-foot-5, 333 pounds) with exceptional athleticism (5.01-second 40-yard dash, 114-inch broad jump). Wright should improve the Bears offensive line in some meaningful way, even as a rookie.
