Amendola caught one of two targets for six yards during Sunday's 37-35 loss to the Vikings.
Amendola was largely forgettable on a day during which Marvin Jones dusted the Vikings for 180 yards and two touchdowns. While the veteran will nonetheless finish his age-34 campaign with a career-high 13.1 yards per reception, Amendola also failed to reach pay dirt all year and he's yet to eclipse 700 receiving yards in his 12 years as a pro. Regardless of where the impending free agent signs this offseason, Amendola seems to have an uphill battle to reclaim fantasy relevance at this stage in his career.
Amendola caught five of seven targets for 37 yards during Saturday's 47-7 loss to the Buccaneers.
Although Amendola again finished third in playing time among Lions wide receivers behind Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu, the former saw as many targets as the latter two combined and ultimately finished the day with a team-high 37 receiving yards, which tells you all you need to know about how the Lions' passing game performed in a game where Matthew Stafford (ankle) left early due to injury. It will be hard to trust any Lions pass catcher Week 17 against Minnesota if Stafford can't play.
Amendola caught three of four targets for 20 yards during Sunday's 46-25 loss to Tennessee.
Amendola finished fourth on the team in targets on a day Marvin Jones (12 targets) stole the show. While it seems unlikely that Kenny Golladay (hip) returns to the field this season, Amendola has been passed over for the No. 2 role by mid-season acquisition Mohamed Sanu (five targets) and isn't seeing enough volume to be worthy of fantasy consideration -- especially if Detroit chooses to sit quarterback Matthew Stafford for the final two games of the season.
Amendola caught six of seven targets for 66 yards during Sunday's 31-24 loss to Green Bay.
Amendola (51 percent of the snaps) once again saw less playing time than Mohamed Sanu (60 percent). While he still outproduced his slightly younger counterpart, who has caught four passes for 73 yards over the past two games compared to nine catches and 128 yards for Amendola, both could be in for a downturn in production if Matthew Stafford (ribs) needs to miss time. Amendola's role in the slot makes him less vulnerable to a loss of playing time if Kenny Golladay (hip) is able to return, however. Next up is a Week 15 matchup against a Tennessee team that has allowed 11 passing touchdowns over the past six games.
Amendola caught three of five targets for 62 yards during Sunday's 34-30 victory over Chicago.
Logging 49 percent of the offensive snaps in his return from a hip injury, the 35-year-old saw slightly less playing time than usual as interim head coach and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell handed the 31-year-old Mohamed Sanu 59 percent of the snaps. While the impending return of Kenny Golladay (hip) eventually will reduce the amount of playing time available to both of these veterans, Amendola's stock will fall further if he has to share the No. 3 role behind Golladay and Marvin Jones, who logged 95 percent of the offensive snaps Sunday. Next up for Detroit is a Week 14 home game against Green Bay.
Amendola (hip) practiced in full Thursday, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.
After missing two games due to a hip injury, Amendola has put himself in a position to return with Thursday's uncapped session. With Kenny Golladay still unable to practice due to a hip issue of his own, Amendola could be poised for a few more reps than usual alongside Marvin Jones and Marvin Hall on Sunday at Chicago. That's assuming Golladay misses a fifth consecutive contest.
Amendola (hip) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Amendola has missed consecutive games with the hip injury, but he appears to have a fair shot at playing Sunday in Chicago. The veteran slot man will have two more opportunities to increase his practice activity before the Lions decide whether he'll carry an injury designation into the weekend.
Amendola (hip) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Texans, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Both Amendola and top wideout Kenny Golladay (hip) won't play Thanksgiving Day, leaving Marvin Jones, Marvin Hall (toe) and Jamal Agnew as Detroit's top options in three-wide sets. The Lions will also have both Matthew Stafford (thumb) and T.J. Hockenson (shoulder) available Thursday.
Amendola (hip) was listed as a limited participant for Tuesday's walkthrough, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
The Lions didn't put in a full practice with the quick turnaround from Sunday's loss to the Panthers, but it's a good sign to see the veteran wideout progress to limited participation after being estimated as a non-participant Monday. Amendola didn't practice last week before being ruled out for Week 11, so he should have a chance of suiting up for Thursday's matchup with Houston.
Amendola (hip) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
The veteran wideout was unable to play Sunday against the Panthers, and his status remains unchanged on Monday's estimated injury report. Amendola likely will need to practice in some form within the next couple days to have a chance of suiting up Thursday versus the Texans.
Amendola (hip) is listed as out for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Amendola will be sidelined for the first time this season after his hip injury prevented him from practicing all week. Top wideout Kenny Golladay (hip) will also be sidelined for the third game in a row, so the Lions will likely have to turn to Marvin Hall and Quintez Cephus as their main options alongside Marvin Jones in three-wide sets.
Amendola (hip) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.
Meanwhile, Marvin Jones (knee) was back at practice after sitting out Wednesday's session, while Kenny Golladay (hip) was on the field again after logging limited activity a day earlier. As such, Amendola's health looks to be the biggest question mark among Detroit's top three receivers, and he may need to practice in full Friday to avoid carrying an injury designation into this weekend's matchup with the Panthers.
Amendola (hip) wasn't spotted at practice Wednesday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
Neither was Marvin Jones (undisclosed), though on the plus side, Kenny Golladay (hip) returned to the practice field Wednesday. Amendola injured his hip during this past Sunday's win over Washington, finishing the day with three receptions for 10 yards on three targets.
Amendola injured his hip during Sunday's contest versus Washington.
Amendola was escorted to the locker room in the second half and eventually termed questionable to return by the Lions. If he's unable to reenter the game, he'll conclude Week 10 with three catches (on three targets) for 10 yards and no touchdowns.
Amendola logged seven receptions on 10 targets for 77 yards in Week 9 against the Vikings.
Amendola took advantage of Kenny Golladay's (hip) absence to reach double-digit targets for the first time since Week 15 of the 2019 season. While the majority of his receptions went for short gains, Amendola did manage catches of 28 and 13 yards to account for over half of his production. Assuming Golladay is unable to return in Week 10 against Washington, Amendola should be expected to soak up plenty of targets once again.
Amendola caught three of four targets for 54 yards during Sunday's 41-21 loss to the Colts.
Amendola made a couple of nice grabs, but it was Marvin Hall (seven targets, four catches, 113 yards) who seemed to benefit more from the injury to Kenny Golladay (hip). However, the veteran did see seven targets in both of the games Golladay missed to begin the year, so it's possible that Hall's usage was fluky to some extent. In any case, Amendola should at least benefit from a Week 9 matchup against a Minnesota defense that has allowed the third-most yards per pass attempt (8.5) in 2020.
Amendola caught three of four targets for 62 yards during Sunday's 23-22 victory over the Falcons.
Most of Amendola's production came on a 36-yard catch in the second quarter where the veteran got open and made a short gain much longer. Considering Amendola still hasn't topped four targets in a game since Kenny Golladay returned from injury, he won't be an advisable fantasy option when Detroit takes on a tough Colts secondary Week 8.
Amendola (foot) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Atlanta, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Amendola will fill his usual role as the Lions' No. 3 receiver, though it hasn't been especially fruitful with the team making multi-TE formations a huge part of the offense this season. Amendola has played only 49 percent of the offensive snaps, and he hasn't seen more than four targets in a game since Week 2.
Amendola (foot) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Amendola was able to match his activity level from Wednesday's practice, putting himself in good shape as Sunday's game against the Falcons. In order to avoid carrying a questionable designation into the contest, however, Amendola may need to upgrade from limited to full participation Friday in the Lions' final practice session of Week 7.
Amendola was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a foot injury.
Amendola's ability to practice in at least a limited capacity seems to hint that he's on track to suit up for Sunday's contest against the Falcons. Fellow starting wideout Marvin Jones (knee) missed Wednesday's practice entirely, making his status the more worrisome of the two receivers at this time.
