Dolphins' Danny Amendola: Getting first-team reps
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Amendola has been getting most of the first-team reps ahead of fellow offseason acquisition Albert Wilson, Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald reports.

With starting outside receivers Kenny Stills and DeVante Parker returning, it seemed a bit odd when the Dolphins handed sizable contracts to both Amendola and Wilson this offseason. It seems the latter has been the odd man out so far, though his ability to play both inside and outside could allow for an interesting role as the top backup at all three receiver spots. Amendola, on the other hand, has long been a slot specialist, typically playing less than 20 percent of his snaps outside. The 32-year-old likely will get most of the slot snaps in three-wide formations, but there is still some chance he loses work to Wilson.

Dolphins' Danny Amendola: Deal with Miami sealed
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Amendola has officially signed with the Dolphins, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.

Per the Boston Globe, Amendola's deal is for two years and worth $12 million. After having re-worked his deal with the Patriots prior to each of the last three seasons, the 32-year-old slot man will now cash in with his new deal with the Dolphins. From a fantasy perspective, Amendola could provide a degree of utility in PPR formats as Miami looks to fill the void created by the departure of the target-gobbling Jarvis Landry, but he'll have some competition to that end. DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills profile as the team's top two wideouts, with Albert Wilson and Jakeem Grant also on hand to jostle for looks in the team's offense with Amendola, who hauled in 61 passes for 659 yards and two TDs in 15 regular-season games for New England in 2017.

Danny Amendola: Headed for Miami
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Amendola is on track to sign with the Dolphins, reports.

Amendola has on previous occasions re-worked his contract in order to stay with the Patriots, but this time around the 32-year-old will look to parlay the 61-catch effort he turned in last season into a solid payday in free agency. The Dolphins are also adding Albert Wilson to their pass-catching mix, but there's looks to be had in the Miami offense, with slot stalwart Jarvis Landry -- who logged a league-high 112 catches on 161 targets in 2017 -- having been traded to the Browns.

Patriots' Danny Amendola: Paces all pass catchers in SB loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Amendola brought in eight of 11 targets for 152 yards during the Patriots' 41-33 loss to the Eagles in Super Bowl LII on Sunday.

Both Amendola's reception and receiving yardage totals paced all receivers, and he also had a team-high 50-yard catch down the left sideline on a blown coverage late in the first quarter. The sure-handed pass catcher's effort Sunday capped off a spectacular postseason, one that saw him bring in 26 of 33 targets for 348 yards and two touchdowns over three games. The 32-year-old's regular season was solid in its own right, as he eclipsed the 60-catch mark for the fourth time in his career while posting his third-highest receiving yardage total (659) and converting a career-best 39 of his grabs into first downs. Amendola is slated to be an unrestricted free agent at the start of the new league year, but given his value to the Patriots and the premium the team typically places on continuity, he's certainly a candidate for return.

Patriots' Danny Amendola: Catches four passes Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Amendola caught four of his seven targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 26-6 win over the Jets.

With fellow wideout Chris Hogan (shoulder) presumably on track to return to action in the playoffs, Amendola figures to see less snaps than either Brandin Cooks or Chris Hogan, but he'll still bring modest PPR utility to the table, in his role out of the slot. In terms of his fantasy upside in playoff formats, Amendola's value is hit-or-miss, given that his weekly target share will be game-flow dependent.
