PHILADELPHIA -- Back in a hitter-friendly park against a familiar opponent, the New York Mets' offense thrived.
Doug Mientkiewicz and Brian Daubach homered, leading the Mets to an 8-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night.
Pat Burrell hit a two-run homer for Philadelphia, which has lost five of seven after a 12-1 homestand.
Jose Reyes had three hits and Carlos Beltran drove in two runs for the last-place Mets, who had lost three in a row and nine of 11. New York went 2-7 against the AL West, averaging just three runs per game.
"It's a different game, a different focus," manager Willie Randolph said. "We need to play well within our division."
Kris Benson (6-2) gave up five runs -- four earned -- and nine hits in six innings. Royce Ring pitched a perfect seventh. Roberto Hernandez worked the eighth and Braden Looper finished for his 14th save in 16 chances.
Brett Myers allowed six runs and 10 hits in 3 1/3 innings, his worst outing of the season. Myers (5-4) had allowed three runs or less in 12 of his first 14 starts. His ERA rose from 2.19 to 2.66.
"They came out swinging the bats," Myers said. "They were aggressive."
Mientkiewicz led off the eighth with a solo shot off Ugueth Urbina to give the Mets a 7-5 lead. Daubach's pinch-hit homer also came off Urbina one out later.
"In this park, we know five runs isn't enough," Mientkiewicz said. "At 6-5, we didn't feel good."
The Phillies closed to 6-5 in the fourth after a two-out rally sparked by reliever Aaron Fultz's single. Fultz advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on Jimmy Rollins' single. Rollins went to second on a throwing error by Mientkiewicz and scored on Kenny Lofton's double.
"He let down a little bit," Randolph said of Benson. "You have to stay focused and not allow a pitcher to start a rally like that."
Burrell's two-run shot deep into the left-center seats cut it to 5-3 in the third.
But the Mets chased Myers in the fourth with another run. Reyes tripled with one out. David Wright walked and Beltran followed with an RBI single to make it 6-3.
An RBI single by Victor Diaz scored Mientkiewicz, who doubled to start the second, to give the Mets a 2-1 lead. Consecutive two-out RBI doubles by Wright and Beltran, and Cliff Floyd's run-scoring single put the Mets ahead 5-1.
Reyes beat out a routine grounder to shortstop to start the game, stole second, advanced to third on a groundout and scored on a balk to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.
Jim Thome's RBI single in the first tied it at 1-all.
Philadelphia is 12-19 against the NL East, 26-14 against the rest of the majors.
"We've got to beat the teams in our division," manager Charlie Manuel said. "No better time than right now."
The Phillies sold 6,300 walk-up tickets -- the most since Citizens Bank Park opened last year -- to reach a sellout. ... Phillies reliever Tim Worrell, who went on the disabled list for personal reasons on May 6, allowed one hit and struck out two in 1 1/3 innings at Class-A Lakewood. ... Burrell has 28 homers and 76 RBI in 326 career at-bats against the Mets. ... It was Daubach's second career pinch-hit homer and the first time he has connected in the NL. ...
