SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The power appears to be coming back to San Francisco.

The Giants, last in the majors with 94 home runs last season, hit three more Sunday in their spring power surge and beat the Oakland Athletics 10-1 in a split-squad game.

Bengie Molina hit a solo homer off Oakland starter Dana Eveland in the second inning, while Matt Downs and Michael Ambort hit two-run homers in the eighth. The Giants lead the majors with 20 homers this spring, and have hit at least one in each of their first 12 games.

San Francisco left-hander Randy Johnson pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings, leaving after his pitch count hit 53. He gave up three singles and walked two.

Johnson came out after Bobby Crosby singled with one out in the fourth and runners on first and second. Osiris Matos retired the final two batters to end the inning.

Johnson has given up one run and six hits in 8 1/3 innings this spring.

"Today was a little bit of a battle," said Johnson, who said he did not throw many sliders, but concentrated on his two-seam fastball and split-finger pitch.

"I just felt like I was battling a little more than I care to," he added. "I was a little frustrated because I pitched behind in the count a lot. But I'm pretty happy. Things are going in the right direction and I'm pitching efficiently during spring training. Spring training needs to be efficient."

Despite the display of power this spring, the Giants insist they're not focused on sending pitches out of ballparks.

"I don't think about home runs," said Molina, who is hitting .261 with two doubles, a homer and three RBIs this spring. "It's more important for me to feel good at the plate and to see the ball better."

Downs had three hits and three RBI, and Fred Lewis had a double, a triple and drove in two with a double in the third inning.

"Offensively, we did a lot of good things," San Francisco manager Bruce Bochy said. "We executed. We hit the ball hard."

Ryan Sweeney had two of Oakland's six hits, and Aaron Cunningham drove in the A's only run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning.

Non-roster right-hander Justin Miller, vying for a spot in the Giants' bullpen, pitched a scoreless eighth. He has not been scored upon in four spring appearances over four innings.

Giants outfielder Randy Winn, 2-for-26 this spring, had an infield single and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

    Notes

For the second time in four days, Oakland right-hander Jared Lansford pitched against the Giants, whose hitters are coached by his father, former major leaguer Carney Lansford. Last Thursday, Carney walked into the parking lot at Scottsdale Stadium rather than watch his son pitch against his hitters. On Sunday, Carney went to Tempe for the Giants' split-squad game against the Los Angeles Angels. "Will Clark was running the hitters over here," Bochy said with a smile. ... Clark, a former Giants and now a special assistant, has been in camp for a week, helping Lansford with the hitters and working with Travis Ishikawa and the other Giants' first basemen. "He has a lot of energy," Bochy said. "He said he'd do whatever we need him to do." Clark spent the previous five springs as an adviser with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
