08/27/16TEMichael HoomanawanuiLegQUESTIONABLEHoomanawanui was forced out of Friday's matchup with the Steelers due to a left leg injury, Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune reports.

It is unclear how the injury was sustained, but the 28-year-old was unable to put any weight on his left leg as trainers helped him off the field. Hoomanawanui currently projects as the third tight end on the Saints' depth chart. Expect an update on his status when the team releases more information.

08/27/16RBDaniel LascoConcussionQUESTIONABLELasco is currently in the league's concussion protocol following Friday's preseason game against the Steelers, Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune reports.

Lasco was given just one rush attempt during Friday's third preseason game, accounting for four yards, and claimed to be fine after sustaining the head injury in the fourth quarter on a receiving play. If the injury lingers, Lasco could be in danger of not making the 53-man roster.

08/27/16RBMarcus MurphyConcussionQUESTIONABLEMurphy sustained a concussion in Friday's preseason game against the Steelers, Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune reports.

Murphy is currently competing for a spot on the 53-man roster and this injury could pose problems for that manifesting. However, he saw 12 offensive snaps Friday before sustaining the concussion and seemed to be on track to remain on the roster.

08/24/16WRVincent BrownCalfQUESTIONABLEThe Saints released Brown (calf) with an injury settlement Thursday, removing him from injured reserve, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Brown joined the Saints in May, adding a veteran presence to a receiving corps lacking in experience. However, he failed his pre-training camp physical due to a strained calf, which will bring his brief tenure in New Orleans to a close. The severity of the injury will likely determine when he receives a chance with another organization.

08/15/16DLSheldon RankinsLower LegOUTRankins, who was carted off during Monday's practice, will have surgery to repair a fractured fibula and is expected to miss six weeks, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Rankins' injury is a tough blow to the Saints' defense, which aded him with the 12th overall pick in this year's draft to beef up its front line. Furthermore, the Louisville product was impressive to this point in camp, even intercepting Tom Brady during joint practices with the Patriots last week. With Rankins now sidelined going into the regular season, Nick Fairley, John Jenkins and fellow rookie David Onyemata should see more reps at defensive tackle.

08/04/16RBAustin JohnsonKneeQUESTIONABLEJohnson injured his knee during Thursday's practice, Nick Underhill of The Advocate reports.

Johnson underwent an MRI on Thursday after injuring his knee and the results of that haven't yet been released, leaving him without a timetable for return. Since joining the Saints in 2014, the fullback has played in 17 games, totaling just 31 yards rushing and one touchdown. A bulk of his snaps come on special teams, where he played 39 percent of the teams snaps last year. His lack of offensive production renders him irrelevant in nearly all fantasy formats this season.

04/08/16DLCameron JordanBackPROBABLEJordan (back) practiced without limitations Thursday, Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Jordan underwent back surgery in February and wasn't expected to rejoin the team until training camp. However, Jordan was much farther ahead in his recovery than expected and was able to return to the practice field in full for the team's OTAs on Thursday. Jordan is coming off a 10-sack Pro Bowl season and with the back injury finally behind him, he'll have the chance to improve on his numbers.

08/28/16WRArrelious BennCollarboneDOUBTFULThe Eagles released wide receiver Arrelious Benn with an injury settlement, according to ESPN on Saturday. Benn suffered a concussion in the third week of preseason, but it was a back injury that caused him to land on the injury reserve to start the season before he was officially waived by Philadelphia.
08/20/16DLMichael BennettHipQUESTIONABLEBennett (hip) was sidelined for Saturday's preseason affair with the Buccaneers, John Oehser of jaguars.com reports.

The Ohio State product has been underwhelming in the early going. Although he appeared in 13 games for the Jaguars last season, Bennett was only able to tally 10 combined tackles. The revamped Jaguars defense is hoping that a healthy Bennett could be a solid return on investment during the regular season.

08/17/16WRBryan WaltersUndisclosedPROBABLEWalters left Wednesday's practice with an undisclosed injury, Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports.

Walters is in his second year with the Jaguars, after compiling 32 receptions for 368 yards and touchdown last season. He's currently battling for a roster spot with the team, so it's an untimely injury for the 28-year-old wide receiver. The severity of the injury remains unclear, but his status for Thursday's practice is up in the air.

08/13/16DLSheldon DayBackPROBABLEDay (back) participated in practice Tuesday for the first time since earlier in August, John Oehser of Jaguars.com reports.

Day has been injured for the past few weeks, but could still make the final roster given he performs well throughout the rest of the preaseason and gets back to full health. He won't have much IDP value, as he's buried on the defensive line depth chart.

    (Updated 08/30/2016)
08/13/16DBNick MarshallAnklePROBABLEMarshall (ankle) did not practice Saturday, John Oehser of Jaguars.com reports.

The severity of Marshall's ankle injury is a bit unclear at this point, but he was held out of the Jaguars practice Saturday as a precaution. He's buried on the team's depth chart at cornerback, so he'll have to battle throughout the rest of training camp for a more prominent role.

08/08/16DLMalik JacksonAnkleQUESTIONABLEJackson dropped 12 pounds between OTA's and the start of training camp, Jacksonville.com reports.

Jackson, who signed a six-year deal with the Jaguars this offseason worth up to $85.5 million, said he spoke with coaches during OTA's and took their advice to heart. "The two things they talked to me about before we left for our break was losing weight and my cardio," Jackson said. "Coach Wash pulled me aside and said that's what I needed to work on." The 26-year-old played at around 308 pounds in 2015, when he recorded 5.0 sacks and 45 combined tackles, helping to lead the Broncos to a Super Bowl victory. As the headliner of a seven-man Jags free agent class, expectations will be high for Jackson, but head coach Gus Bradley is pleased with what he's seen thus far. "He has done a good job," Bradley said Friday. "I'll tell you what, he does a good job working on the edge. You know when you see him on a guard. Good technique and conditioning, he plays on the edge a little bit more and he shows some rushing."

08/08/16DLJared OdrickFootQUESTIONABLEThe Jaguars officially signed defensive tackle Jared Odrick on Wednesday, per the team's official website. Odrick will reportedly make $8.5 million per season with $22 million guaranteed.
08/04/16DBDavon HouseHamstringPROBABLEHouse (hamstring) sat out of Saturday's practice as he continues to nurse a hamstring injury.

House is considered day-to-day with the injury, which caused him to sit out of practice on Thursday. Until he returns, look for Dwayne Gratz and Prince Amukamara to lead the team in reps in practice.

07/29/16WRJustin BlackmonSuspensionSUSPENDBlackmon (suspension) was handed a one-year suspended sentence and probation Wednesday, stemming from a misdemeanor DUI, the Florida Times-Union reports.

Taken fifth overall in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Jaguars, Blackmon hasn't played in an NFL game since being suspended indefinitely back on Nov. 1, 2013 for a violation of the league's substance abuse program. Though he remains listed on Jacksonville's roster, the the 26-year-old wideout seems increasingly unlikely to play for the team again.

    (Updated 08/24/2016)
07/29/16DBAaron ColvinSuspensionSUSPENDColvin (suspension) returned to practice Wednesday, Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports.

Colvin was dealing with an ankle injury and had been sidelined since the team's preseason opener. He was back on the field Wednesday and should be available for Saturday's matchup with the Buccaneers. Colvin is suspended for the first four games of the regular season for taking performance enhancing substances, but he should be back to full strength by then.

04/08/16LBTelvin SmithShoulderPROBABLESmith (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Texans.

The 2014 fifth-rounder finishes up his 2015 season with a fantasy-friendly 128 tackles, to go along with 2.5 sacks and a pick in 14 games. He's on track to reprise his starting outside linebacker role for the Jags in 2016, an assignment that will make Smith -- whose shoulder issue will not require offseason surgery -- worthy of continued IDP utility next year.

    (Updated 01/01/2016)
02/24/16DLDante FowlerKneePROBABLEThe Jaguars have finalized the process of ending the season of defensive end and top pick Dante Fowler by placing him on injured reserve.
02/16/16DLSen'Derrick MarksTricepsPROBABLEMarks (triceps) returned to practice on Friday for the Jaguars' final day of OTAs, Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union reports.

Marks was a participant during individual drills for the first time this offseason after suffering torn triceps during November of the 2015 campaign, leading to an injured reserve designation. "It felt good just getting back, trusting the process, going out and not having any hiccups," Marks said Friday regarding his return to the practice field. The 6-foot-2, 294-pound veteran also believes he'll be a full participant for training camp, which begins in late July. He's expected to receive a lighter snap load throughout the 2016 regular season regardless, one reason being the addition of Malik Jackson in free agency.
