03/13/13WRNick ToonFoot The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that the Saints have high expectations for second-year receiver Nick Toon, who missed his rookie season with foot surgery. Toon, who spent most of the offseason working out back at Wisconsin, could play a key role for a Saints team that hasn't re-signed veteran receiver Devery Henderson to this point. He could be a third or fourth receiver, along with Joe Morgan, depending on what other moves the Saints make at the receiver position in the draft or free agency. "We expected a big guy, a big receiver who was polished, which he is. He had a great pedigree (the son of former NFL receiver Al Toon), came from a great program, was well-coached at Wisconsin. And he just had a medical issue he had to overcome," general manager Mickey Loomis said. "So we liked everything we saw, yet we haven't seen enough yet. But he's smart, we know that. A lot of physical ability, we know that. So all the signs, all the flags were positive. And everything we thought from him coming out of Wisconsin was confirmed or better so far. But he has a lot to prove yet." (Updated 04/12/2013)

The injuries require surgery. He hopes to be ready in time for Week 1. "I am going to set my mind to being ready for the first game of the regular season," said Hynoski. "They said that is not an unrealistic goal, and I will do everything in my power to be ready for the start of the season." (Updated 05/23/2013)
04/15/13WRHakeem NicksKnee The New York Daily News reports Hakeem Nicks was absent from the team's first day of OTA workouts Wednesday, just hours after attending a charity event in New York the night before and telling reporters he felt good physically following knee surgery. He had attended offseason program. "He should be here," an irked coach Tom Coughlin said, ruling out injury for the reason he's absent. (Updated 05/22/2013)

01/15/13DBTerrell ThomasKnee Terrell Thomas signed a one-year contract to stay with the Giants. The defensive back tore an ACL for the third time in his playing career last summer; he hasn't played in an NFL game since 2010. Speculation is that the team will move him to safety. "My knee feels great," Thomas said per the official team website. "It was a little struggle at first. It was a little inconsistent with the swelling. But for the last month-and-a half I haven't dealt with any swelling at all. It's progressed the last two weeks since I started running. The doctors are really happy with the way I'm progressing. They had to increase my workload because it wasn't enough." (Updated 02/11/2013)
