He added that he does not have a drinking or substance problem. (Updated 05/13/2013)

02/22/13WRLaurent RobinsonConcussion The Dallas Morning News reports that the Cowboys could have interest in free agent receiver Laurent Robinson. The report says Dallas hoped to keep Robinson after his breakout season in 2011 but could not come close to the 5-year, $32.5 million contract he received from Jacksonville. Robinson caught 24 passes for 252 yards and no touchdowns for the Jaguars in 2012 but suffered four concussions. He caught 54 passes for 858 yards and 11 touchdowns in his only season with the Cowboys. Robinson’s health is a concern, but he developed a strong rapport with quarterback Tony Romo, especially in the red zone, that he remains an option to return. “Obviously, he played lights out and we tried to sign him last year and his price got more than we could handle under our cap,’’ executive vice president Stephen Jones said. “But obviously things change from year-to-year. We’ve got to look at the big picture with Laurent. He had some injuries that we’re going to be doing our homework on and be going from there.’’ (Updated 03/19/2013)
02/07/13QBBlaine GabbertForearm, shoulder The Jaguars official team website reports that quarterback Blaine Gabbert is the favorite to win the starting job coming into the season. The report says the Jaguars have not decided anything, but they believe Gabbert has the talent to be successful. Gabbert must win the job, and he must outplay Chad Henne to do so. (Updated 05/01/2013)
01/25/13WRCecil ShortsConcussion The Florida Times-Union reports Friday that Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts has been cleared for football activities. Shorts was placed on injured reserve following a concussion suffered in Week 16. It was his second concussion of the season. (Updated 01/25/2013)
01/14/13RBMaurice Jones-DrewFoot The Florida Times-Union reports that Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) said Monday he ran 30 yards at three-quarters speed during a team workout where he did not participate. “That was exciting,” he said. “Lately, it’s been one day on, a day off, two days on, a day off — it’s part of the process. I’m closer than I think. I just want to take my time and make sure we do it the right way.” Jones-Drew’s goal is to resume full-scale training for the month leading into the start of training camp the last week of July. He watched the 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 OTA drills from the sidelines. (Updated 05/14/2013)

04/17/13LBColin McCarthyAnkle Titans linebacker Colin McCarthy had a procedure this offseason on the right ankle he injured in Week 1 last year. He posted on Twitter he's already running again. McCarthy missed four games with the injury, then suffered a concussion to end his season five weeks early. (Updated 04/17/2013)
03/13/13WRMarc MarianiLeg The Titans placed receiver Marc Mariani (leg) on season-ending injured reserve Sunday. (Updated 08/26/2012)
02/22/13RBJavon RingerKnee The Tennessean reports that Titans running back Javon Ringer is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery to repair an injury he suffered during the 2012 season. Ringer is expected to be fully healthy within a month, however. Ringer suffered a sprained MCL during the team’s October 7 game against the Vikings, and the initial plan didn’t call for surgery. He rehabbed the injury during the season, but was eventually placed on Injured Reserve after playing in just two games. Ringer, a fifth round pick by the team in 2009, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next month. Titans general manager Ruston Webster said the team would like to find a back to complement Chris Johnson more in 2013. Asked if the door is closed on Ringer’s return, he said: “Not necessarily. But just like anybody else who has been injured, you have to take precaution there and you can’t rely on guys who have missed time.” (Updated 02/22/2013)
01/15/13TEJared CookShoulder CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora believes Jared Cook is a candidate to break out in his first year with the Rams. La Canfora correctly notes that he was "handcuffed" by poor quarterback play in Tennessee and figures to be utilized much more often in St. Louis. La Canfora thinks Cook will replace Danny Amendola as Sam Bradford's "security blanket." (Updated 05/13/2013)
01/09/13QBJake LockerShoulder The Titans official website reports that quarterback Jake Locker said his left shoulder “feels like its back to normal” and he will “definitely” be cleared for contact at training camp in late July. Locker’s injury last season and backup status in 2011 has translated into only 16 games played with 11 starts over his first two NFL seasons — not a large body of work for evaluation. Despite the injuries and playing behind a depleted offensive line a year ago, Locker has thrown for 2,718 yards and 14 touchdowns vs. 11 interceptions. He improved his completion percentage from 51.5 in 2011 to 56.4 in 2012 and ran for 291 yards and a TD last season. Locker admits he “can improve in a lot of areas” as he looks to become more consistent and find ways to keep the offense on the field in 2013. “I go out and I’m always trying to get the best out of myself no matter what the situation,” he said. “It won’t be any different for me, I won’t approach it any different. I’m just excited about this season.” (Updated 05/14/2013)
