  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Puts up big numbers in win

McBride finished with nine receptions (11 targets) for 124 yards in Sunday's 28-27 win over the Dolphins. McBride took his ceiling to a new level after cracking the century mark in receiving yards for the first time this season Sunday. The 24-year-old has yet to score a touchdown this year, but that is the only thing holding the tight end back from becoming a must-start asset. McBride remains a strong play heading into next Sunday's tilt against Chicago.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Leads team with seven targets

McBride had five receptions (on seven targets) for 51 yards in Monday's 17-15 win over the Chargers. McBride led the Cardinals in both targets and receptions Monday, serving as quarterback Kyler Murray's favorite target. Backup tight end Greg Dortch cashed in Arizona's lone receiving touchdown on the evening, but the 24-year-old McBride still posted solid numbers for the third game running since returning from a one-game absence Week 4. Managers should feel confident playing McBride against the Dolphins in Week 8.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Busiest game of season

McBride brought in all eight targets for 96 yards in the Cardinals' 34-13 loss to the Packers on Sunday. With Marvin Harrison exiting the game with a concussion in the second quarter, McBride operated as Kyler Murray's top target on the afternoon. In the process, the third-year tight end set new season highs in receptions and receiving yards while drawing his second-highest target total of the campaign. McBride now has at least six catches in three of his past four games, which leaves him trending in the right direction for a Week 7 Monday night home matchup against the Chargers on Oct. 21.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Returns to lead team in targets

McBride (ribs) turned nine targets into six receptions for 53 yards in Sunday's 24-23 win over San Francisco. McBride overcame a pair of health roadblocks (one of which had cost him a week of action) to return to Arizona's starting lineup against the 49ers in Week 5. The 2022 second-round pick wound up leading his team in targets while producing a solid fantasy line for managers in Sunday's upset victory. McBride is averaging four receptions and 43.8 yards in four active games this season, making him a reliable option at a shallow position heading into next Sunday's tilt against Green Bay.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Active as expected Sunday

McBride (ribs) is active for Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the 49ers. McBride had an eventful week as it pertains to his health following a Week 4 absence due to a concussion, managing to clear protocol while practicing in full both Thursday and Friday and entering the weekend sans an injury designation. However, McBride was added to the injury report Saturday with a ribs injury, but subsequent reporting indicated the talented tight end was in line to suit up Sunday. With his active status now official, McBride will slide back into his unquestioned No. 1 tight-end role for the divisional clash against San Francisco, sending Elijah Higgins back down to No. 2 slotting at the position.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: In line to suit up Sunday

McBride (ribs) is listed as questionable but is expected to play Sunday versus San Francisco, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. McBride missed Week 4 against Washington while in concussion protocol but was able to return to full practice sessions Thursday and Friday during Week 5 prep. However, he surprisingly popped back up on the injury report Saturday due to an injury to his ribs and was given a questionable tag. Despite the fact that he's now nursing a new injury, McBride looks like he will be able to play through the issue Sunday, ensuring that the Cardinals have one of their top pass catchers for a key NFC West battle with the 49ers. The Cardinals won't officially clear McBride to play until they release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Questionable with rib injury

The Cardinals list McBride as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers due to a rib injury. McBride cleared concussion protocol earlier this week after missing the team's Week 4 loss to the Commanders, but despite being a full participant in practice Thursday and Friday, he apparently picked up a rib injury at some point along the way. Elijah Higgins was the de facto starting tight end in his absence last week and would likely see most of the playing time if McBride were to miss a second straight game. Expect more clarity on McBride's status to emerge when the Cardinals release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Removed from injury report

McBride (concussion) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at San Francisco, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. McBride cleared concussion protocol and managed full practice participation both Thursday and Friday. He's back in as one of Kyler Murray's top targets after missing a Week 4 loss to the Commanders.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Expected to play

Coach Jonathan Gannon said Friday that McBride (concussion) will play Sunday at San Francisco, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. It sounds like McBride has either cleared concussion protocol or is on track to do so at some point Friday. He missed a Week 4 loss to Washington after suffering a concussion in a loss to the Lions a week prior.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Full practice Thursday

McBride (concussion) practiced fully Thursday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports. After opening the week as limited Wednesday, McBride returned to full participation one day later. Per Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site, McBride also didn't have on a yellow non-contact jersey while running routes and catching passes from QB Kyler Murray, signifying that he's closing in on emerging from the concussion protocol. Clearance from an independent neurologist awaits for McBride, though, so his listing on Friday's injury report will be telling in that regard. The third-year tight end is seeking to miss just one game as a result of the head injury that he sustained Week 3 against the Lions.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Returning to practice Wednesday

Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said Wednesday that McBride (concussion) is slated to practice, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Gannon indicated that McBride will be "coming out of the concussion protocol," but it's unclear whether the standout tight end has yet gained full clearance. In any case, McBride getting back on the practice field represents a positive step forward after he was forced to miss Arizona's 42-14 loss to the Commanders in Week 4. McBride will still need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist before exiting the protocol and potentially suiting up Sunday in San Francisco.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Still not practicing

McBride (concussion) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports. McBride's lack of involvement Thursday doesn't come as much of a surprise after he wasn't present during the media-access portion of the session, per Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic. The third-year pro thus seems to be trending in the wrong direction due to the fact he hasn't made any noticeable progress through the concussion protocol. Ultimately, the Cardinals may make a ruling on McBride's availability on Friday's injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders. If he eventually sits out this weekend, fellow TE Elijah Higgins would be the primary beneficiary for fantasy purposes, though rookie third-rounder Tip Reiman may actually see more snaps than Higgins due to his blocking prowess.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Not seen at Thursday's practice

McBride (concussion) wasn't spotted during the part of Thursday's practice open to the media, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports. If McBride indeed goes down as a non-participant for a second day in a row, he'll have just one more chance for on-field reps during Week 4 prep. On top of that, he'll have significantly reduced odds to make his way through the protocol for head injuries ahead of Sunday's contest against the Commanders. Elijah Higgins and Tip Reiman are on hand to handle TE reps for the Cardinals if McBride misses any game action.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: No practice Wednesday

McBride (concussion) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports. McBride's lack of activity just three days after he suffered a concussion comes as no surprise, but he also was seen walking about and joking around with his teammates in the locker room, per Mackie. Until McBride makes some notable progress through the five-step concussion protocol, however, his status will remain murky for Sunday's game against the Commanders. Elijah Higgins would stand to benefit most among Cardinals tight ends if McBride is forced to miss any time.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Top DFS Play

McBride has a 28.8% target share through two weeks. Marvin Harrison doesn't appear to be harming his volume, though he hasn't helped his efficiency as much as I had hoped yet either. Still, he's the clear top play on this slate in a shootout against the Detroit Lions.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Top DFS Play

McBride led his team i targets and led the position in air yards share, there's not reason to believe his Week 1 dud was anything other than variance. He's still my favorite tight end rest of season and he's by far my favorite tight end value in DFS this week.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Just 30 yards in loss

McBride caught five of nine targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 34-28 loss to the Bills. McBride led the Cardinals in targets but delivered a middling performance in the competitive Week 1 loss. Arizona's entire passing game struggled, with no player posting more than 44 receiving yards. The 24-year-old tight end had more than 30 yards in each of his last eight games last season, so McBride's unlikely to remain this quiet in Week 2 against the Rams.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Top DFS Play

McBride is my number one tight end for both the week and the season. He's priced as the third-most expensive tight end on the slate, 20% cheaper than Sam LaPorta. The Bills have traditionally been a tough matchup for tight ends, but they won't have Matt Milano, who has made a big difference in the past.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: No. 1 TE on depth chart

McBride remains listed as the Cardinals' No. 1 tight end on the team's second unofficial depth chart of training camp, Jeremy Cluff of The Arizona Republic reports. Oftentimes, NFL depth charts in August are merely guesses by team media relations staffs as to where players stand, but in the case of McBride there's little question regarding his status in the Cardinals offense. Not only is he Arizona's top tight end, he'll be among the top targets for QB Kyler Murray in 2024 alongside first-round rookie WR Marvin Harrison, second-year WR Michael Wilson and RB James Conner. In the eight games in which Murray was under center last season, McBride, a 2022 second-rounder, posted two 100-yard efforts en route to a 53-538-2 line on 66 targets. Such numbers extrapolated across a 17-game slate would place McBride in elite company at his position league-wide for fantasy purposes.

  • Cardinals' Trey McBride: Catches third TD Sunday

McBride had three receptions on six targets for 34 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 21-20 loss to Seattle. McBride finished his breakout fantasy campaign on a high note by catching the only touchdown Kyler Murray threw against the Seahawks on Sunday. The second-year tight end saw huge jumps in usage after Week 1 starter Zach Ertz (quadriceps) landed on season-ending IR in Week 7. McBride took advantage of the opportunity and rattled off 69 receptions, 655 yards and all three of his touchdowns over the ensuing 10 games as the No. 1 option. That is a healthy enough snapshot to get an idea of the impact McBride could have in the shallow fantasy tight end pool in 2024.
