Diamondbacks starting pitcher prospect Braden Shipley has begun to turn the corner at Double-A Mobile after enduring a rough stretch of starts.

The 2013 first-round pick (15th) has posted a 2.86 ERA and .212 opponents' batting average in his last five starts. In his previous nine starts, he went 1-6 with a 6.27 ERA and .305 opponents' batting average.

For the season, the right-hander is 5-8 with a 4.20 ERA and 1.42 WHIP through 18 starts. He has 64 strikeouts and 41 walks in 94 1/3 innings.

Shipley was ranked as a top-40 prospect by Baseball America (No. 26) and MLB.com (No. 39) entering the season.
