Jeff Niemann to get second opinion on shoulder

Rays starting pitcher Jeff Niemann will travel to Texas with the team to get a second opinion on his shoulder. He was placed on the disabled list Friday with right shoulder soreness.

"I'm sure there's going to be tests involved to draw some conclusions," Rays manager Joe Maddon told MLB.com. "But that's where it's at right now."
