Royals purchase contract of Derek Gordon

The Royals announced they purchased the contract of pitcher Derek Gordon on Thursday.

Gordon is the younger brother of Royals outfielder Alex Gordon. After finishing his college career in 2014, Gordon signed with the Kansas City T-Bones of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball.
