Turner has been on the DL for nearly a month with a nagging hamstring strain, but it appears he's nearing the end of his rehab stint at Triple-A. Per Rosecrans, Turner will likely get a travel day Saturday before officially returning to the Reds on Sunday. Turner has struggled in limited action for the Reds, going just 4-for-29 at the plate in 13 games this season.

Turner (hamstring) kicked off a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Monday, going 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Turner is eligible come off the disabled list Tuesday, but it wouldn't be surprising if the Reds opt to keep him on the rehab assignment for the full 20-day window in an effort to give him regular at-bats. Once activated from the disabled list, Turner will see infrequent work as the Reds' No. 3 catcher behind Devin Mesoraco and Tucker Barnhart. The Rule 5 pick isn't eligible to be optioned to the minors so long as he remains in the Reds organization.

Reds manager Bryan Price said Sunday that Turner (hamstring) could return from the 10-day disabled list in the minimum amount of time, Zach Buchanan of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
The Reds moved Turner to the DL on Saturday due to a right hamstring injury, which he sustained while chasing after a wild pitch Friday against the Rockies. Considering Cincinnati already has two healthy catchers on the roster in Devin Mesoraco and Tucker Barnhart, the Reds should be able to get by just fine if Turner ends up needing more than 10 days to recover from the injury.

This was expected, but Brantly's reassignment all but cements Turner's spot on the Opening Day roster. A Rule 5 pick, he has gone 13-for-32 with five extra-base hits and more walks (6) than strikeouts (5) in 21 Cactus League games to date. Turner is slated to serve as the backup to Tucker Barnhart with Devin Mesoraco (hip) still not up to speed. The 25-year-old may be offered back to the Twins once Mesoraco is ready to go.
