Luis Robert was limited to 110 games last season due to hamstring issues, adding yet another injury-tarnished campaign to his ledger. He finished with a disappointing .223/.297/.364 slash line but still provided solid fantasy production with 14 homers, 33 stolen bases, 53 RBI and 52 runs scored while posting a career-best 9.5 percent walk rate. Robert was particularly productive during the second half with an .808 OPS, which may have swayed the White Sox to exercise his $20 million club option for 2026. After years of trade rumors, the White Sox finally dealt him to the Mets during the winter, which gives him better potential for run production The 110 games played last season is the second-highest total of the outfielder's career, so he certainly shouldn't be expected to provide a ton of volume. That being said, Robert has decent power and good speed (28 homers and 56 steals across the past two seasons), so there's still some fantasy upside -- especially with his new team --if he's able to play around his average workload, which comes out to 113 contests over the last four years.

    The Mets will hold Robert out of the first few Grapefruit League games as he works on strengthening his lower body, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports. Per Will Sammon and Tim Britton of The Athletic, the center fielder won't see game action until the second week of the Grapefruit League schedule. Robert is healthy, but the club wants to be proactive given all the leg issues he's dealt with the last few years. The 28-year-old slashed only .223/.288/.372 while averaging 105 games played over his last two seasons with the White Sox, but he showed signs of life in the second half of 2025 with a .298/.352/.456 line before being shut down with a strained hamstring. Robert will be the Mets' everyday center fielder in 2026 for as long as he can stay healthy.

    The White Sox traded Robert to the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for Luisangel Acuna and Truman Pauley, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Although he finished the 2025 campaign with a .661 OPS, Robert showed flashes of returning to his 2023 form by slashing .298/.352/.456 across 125 plate appearances after the All-Star break before a hamstring strain ended his season in late August. He also delivered his most productive season on the basepaths, tallying a career-high 33 stolen bases despite missing the final month of the year. Robert has slashed only .223/.288/.372 over 210 games covering the past two seasons and has a lengthy history of injuries.     White Sox general manager Chris Getz acknowledged Wednesday that Robert could be done for the season after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports. Robert suffered the injury during Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Royals and was subsequently placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday. Given that he's been diagnosed with a moderate strain and the White Sox have less than five weeks of games remaining, a return before the end of the season looks like a long shot for Robert. Getz also noted Wednesday that the club remains "committed to Luis," perhaps hinting that the organization plans on exercising Robert's $20 million team option for 2026 this offseason.
