Player Outlook
Rhylan Thomas put up eye-popping numbers in Triple-A Tacoma last season with 105 runs, 78 runs driven in, 35 steals in 43 attempts along with a .325 batting average. Unfortunately for him, Seattle's crowded outfield offered little chance for him to come up for anything other than a three-game stint in early May. Thomas is not projected to be a first division regular by any means, but his high-contact apporach could find its way into starting on a lesser club, which makes him primary trade material should Seattle look to shore up other areas of the team. He is worth keeping an eye on in deeper league formats should he be dealt somewhere or an injury on the big league roster creates an opportunity for him to ply his trade.

  • Mariners' Rhylan Thomas: Moved to Triple-A

The Mariners optioned Thomas to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday. Thomas did everything he could to claim a spot on Seattle's Opening Day roster, slashing .486/.535/.784 with two home runs, eight RBI and six runs scored over 43 plate appearances, but he will instead head back to Tacoma to begin 2026. The 25-year-old outfielder has batted .327 and stolen 45 bases across 181 Triple-A games since joining the Mariners organization in 2024, but Seattle's crowded outfield corps will likely make it hard for him to find playing time in the majors.

  • Mariners' Rhylan Thomas: Stellar start to spring

Thomas went 2-for-3 with a home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's Cactus League matchup with the Angels. Thomas has been red hot this spring, going 5-for-12 with a pair of homers in seven games. While he doesn't currently have a clear path towards an Opening Day roster spot, Thomas has certainly turned heads in the Mariners organization. The 25-year-old outfielder went just 1-for-8 in three games with Seattle last year, though he slashed an eye-popping .325/.380/.411 with seven homers and 35 steals across 134 games with Triple-A Tacoma.

  • Mariners' Rhylan Thomas: Added to roster

The Mariners selected Thomas' contract from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday. Thomas earned a promotion after slashing .319/.363/.362 with one home run and six stolen bases in his first 26 games with Tacoma this season. The left-handed hitter is not in the lineup Wednesday as the Mariners face southpaw Tyler Anderson, but Thomas could draw some starts in right field against right-handed pitching.

  • Mets' Rhylan Thomas: Headed to Triple-A

Thomas was promoted to Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports. Thomas has gotten off to an impressive start with Double-A Binghamton this season, batting .323 with eight doubles, 13 RBI, 11 runs scored and six stolen bases over 96 at-bats in 25 games so far. The outfielder will look to continue his success at the plate with Triple-A and is now just one step away from the majors.
