Marlins' Pete Fairbanks: Lands in Miami on one-year deal
Fairbanks and the Marlins agreed Wednesday on a one-year, $13 million contract, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Tampa Bay declined Fairbanks' $11 million club option for 2026 earlier this offseason, but the reliever ended up securing an extra $2 million after hitting the open market. The deal also includes a $1 million signing bonus and another $1 million in appearance-based incentives, per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. The Marlins took a committee approach to the closer position in 2025, but Fairbanks' contract should give him some security as the Marlins' preferred ninth-inning man heading into spring training. Though staying healthy has often been an issue for Fairbanks throughout his career, he continued to pitch effectively in his age-31 season in 2025, logging a 2.83 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 59:18 K:BB while converting 27 of 32 save chances across 60.1 innings with the Rays.

Marlins' Ronny Henriquez: To miss 2026 season
Henriquez underwent a UCL reconstruction surgery with an internal brace procedure on his right elbow and will miss the 2026 season, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Henriquez appeared in line to compete for save chances heading into the 2026 campaign after putting together an impressive 2025 season. He posted a 2.22 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with a 98:27 K:BB and seven saves in 11 chances across 73.0 innings. However, he'll now shift his focus to rehabbing following a recent season-ending surgery. The Marlins expect him to be ready for next year's spring training, per an update from the team.

Marlins' Brian Navarreto: Re-ups with Marlins
The Marlins re-signed Navarreto to a minor-league contract Monday.
Navarreto elected free agency last month after being outrighted off the Marlins' 40-man roster, but he's found his way back into the organization. The 30-year-old got into eight games with Miami in 2025, going 4-for-14 with one home run. Navarreto is likely pegged for Triple-A Jacksonville to begin the 2026 campaign.

Marlins' Christopher Morel: Lands with Miami on one-year deal
The Marlins signed Morel to a one-year contract Friday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
The Marlins plan to use Morel at first base, a position he has never played before. Given the team's lack of other options at first base, he could be the regular there if his defense is at least adequate. Morel flashed loads of promise earlier in his career, particularly in 2023 with the Cubs when he posted a .821 OPS with 26 home runs over only 429 plate appearances. He has just a .651 OPS since then, and his strikeout rate spiked to 35.7 percent in 2025 with the Rays. Morel still makes loud contact when he connects (49.7 percent hard-hit rate, 14.8 percent barrel rate in 2025), and the Marlins will try to get him to cut down on the swing-and-miss. He will be arbitration eligible in 2027 and 2028.

Marlins' Zach Brzykcy: Outrighted to Jacksonville
Brzykcy cleared waivers Friday and was sent outright to Triple-A Jacksonville, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Brzykcy was claimed off waivers in November after he posted a 9.00 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 23 innings with the Nationals this year. He'll remain in the organization but lose his roster spot, giving Miami an opening on the 40-man heading into the Rule 5 Draft.

Marlins' Griffin Conine: Will play some first base in spring
Conine will be given reps at first base during spring training, Ken Rosenthal and Patrick Mooney of The Athletic report.
Conine has not played anywhere other than the corner-outfield spots in pro ball, but the Marlins plan to give him a test run at first base. The position is wide open, so Conine could even start there if he adapts well to first base. Conine missed most of the 2025 season following surgery to repair a dislocated left shoulder, but he returned late in the year and enters the offseason healthy.

Marlins' Tyler Zuber: Returns to Miami on MiLB deal
The Marlins re-signed Zuber to a minor-league contract Wednesday.
Zuber got into 10 games between the Mets and Marlins in 2025, yielding 15 runs over 12 frames. The 30-year-old reliever has a career 6.26 ERA at the big-league level but has struck out 73 across 64.2 innings. Zuber is likely to start next season at Triple-A Jacksonville.

Marlins' Evan McKendry: Gets MiLB deal from Marlins
The Marlins signed McKendry to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training Wednesday, his agent, Gavin Kahn, reports.
McKendry spent the 2025 season at the Triple-A level between the Brewers and White Sox organizations, putting up a 5.15 ERA and 57:18 K:BB over 80.1 innings. Slated to turn 28 in February, McKendry has no experience in the majors and is likely to begin the 2026 campaign at Triple-A Jacksonville.
