Trail Blazers' Anthony Morrow: Signs non-guaranteed deal with Blazers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow signed a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with the Trail Blazers on Friday, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.

After splitting last season between Oklahoma City and Chicago, Morrow remained unsigned into September, but he'll now head to Portland, where he'll look to crack the final roster out of camp. The soon-to-be-32-year-old is essentially a three-point specialist at this point, though he struggled in that regard last season, converting just 30.8 percent of his looks from beyond the arc.

Bulls' Anthony Morrow: Sees expanded role over past two games
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow finished with two points (1-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt), three assists and two rebounds across 21 minutes during Thursday's 102-90 victory over the 76ers.

Though he's collected 14 DNP-CDs since being traded to the Bulls just before the deadline, Morrow has played a combined 40 minutes over the past two games, totaling 17 points on 4-of-14 shooting. It's unclear exactly why coach Fred Hoiberg has decided to give Morrow extra run considering that the Bulls haven't taken on any new injuries other than Rajon Rondo (wrist) missing Thursday's game -- though he plays point guard while Morrow plays shooting guard and small forward. The situation could be worth monitoring, as Morrow is a historically impressive three-point shooter, knocking down 41.6 percent of his attempts from long range for his career.

Bulls' Anthony Morrow: Will not play Friday vs. Suns
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow will be in uniform but will not take the floor during Friday's game against the Suns, Nick Friedell of ESPN reports.

Coach Fred Hoiberg apparently wants Morrow to take some time to get acclimated to his new situation after being traded and he will not take the floor Friday for the Bulls. His role in the offense has yet to be determined, but he should be able to be a three-point option for the Bulls, despite hitting an uncharacteristically low 29.4 percent from long distance this season.

Bulls' Anthony Morrow: Traded to the Bulls
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow has been traded to the Bulls along with Cameron Payne and Joffrey Lauvergne in exchange for Taj Gibson, Doug McDermott and a 2018 second-round pick, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Morrow was part of a package that was centered around Cameron Payne, but he should still provide some value for Chicago, especially with Doug McDermott now in Oklahoma City. That being said, Morrow is struggling this season, averaging only 5.8 points per game and shooting a lousy 29.4-percent from three, which is uncharacteristic given his 41.7-percent career average. Nevertheless, he should have an opportunity to work himself into the Bulls' rotation, especially if he can improve his three-point stroke.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Enters rotation, plays 30 minutes Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow logged 11 points (3-12 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two steals and one rebound across 30 minutes in a 108-94 loss to the Spurs on Tuesday.

With Alex Abrines missing the game with back spasms and starting small forward Andre Roberson not giving the Thunder much offense early on, Morrow appeared for just the fourth time since the beginning of 2017 and picked up a huge workload off the bench. Unfortunately for Morrow, he didn't live up to his reputation as a sharpshooter, so if Abrines' absence proves to be only a short-term issue, Morrow could be headed out of coach Billy Donovan's rotation before long.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Out of rotation
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in a 109-94 win over the Bulls on Monday.

After a seven-game run as the team's starting shooting guard, Morrow moved back to the bench Dec. 31 when Victor Oladipo returned from a wrist injury. While it wasn't unexpected that Morrow has seen his minutes tail off upon settling into a reserve role, it's been more surprising that he's been passed up on the depth chart by rookie Alex Abrines, who has taken over as the primary backup to Oladipo. Abrines' emergence has resulted in Morrow dropping out of the rotation entirely for four of the past five games, and the veteran may not reclaim playing time until Abrines' three-point shooting shooting tails off. Abrines has done well to maintain his spot in the rotation by going 6-of-16 (37.5%) from distance over the past five contests.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Starts vs. Phoenix, scores 11 points
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow started Saturday during a 114-101 victory over the Suns and scored 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-4 3Pt) and had two steals across 21 minutes.

Victor Oladipo (wrist) missed his third consecutive game and Morrow started for him Saturday after Jerami Grant had started the previous two games. Morrow, who gives the Thunder desperately needed three-point shooting, is seeing his playing time continue to trend in the right direction. He is playing 25.3 minutes per game so far in December after he averaged 13.3 minutes per game in November. Even when Oladipo returns, Morrow will likely continue to see at least 20 minutes per game.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Starting Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow will get the start at shooting guard Saturday against the Suns, Erik Horne of The Oklahoman reports.

The Thunder will mix things up Saturday, inserting Morrow at shooting guard, while Jerami Grant moves to the bench, as was the case to begin the second half of Wednesday's loss to the Jazz. Of course, neither player is a regular starter, but the Thunder will again be without the services of Victor Oladipo (wrist) on Saturday.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Starts second half at shooting guard
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow finished with three points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and two rebounds across 28 minutes in Wednesday's 109-89 loss to the Jazz.

Despite surpassing 25 minutes for the sixth time in seven games, Morrow was mostly a non-entity during his time on the court, and the sharpshooter has now gone just 1-of-11 from three-point range over his last three contests. Still, it's worth noting that Morrow started the second half over Jerami Grant, so it's possible that Morrow could enter the lineup Saturday against the Suns if Victor Oladipo (wrist) remains out for a third straight contest.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Scores 15 points in Monday's win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow poured in 15 points (5-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT) to go with two rebounds and one steal across 26 minutes in Monday's 102-99 win over the Hawks.

Morrow has put forth four double-digit scoring outings in his last six games, with his prowess from three-point land keying those efforts. The sharpshooter has knocked down 14 total triples during that span while hitting them at a 45.2 percent clip. Until he falls into a prolonged slump, Morrow should be secure in his role as the Thunder's top three-point specialist.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Posts season-high four assists Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow managed six points (2-9 FG, 2-7 3Pt), four assists, and one rebound in 31 minutes during the Thunder's 126-115 overtime win against the Wizards on Wednesday.

Morrow handed out a season-four dimes in a season-high 31 minutes on Wednesday, and he appears to have earned a fairly reliable role off the bench for the Thunder. After earning a grand total of 60 minutes while appearing in only eight of the first 15 games in 2016-17, Morrow is now averaging 11.8 points (on 47.7 percent shooting), 2.2 threes (on 50.0 percent shooting), 1.4 assists, 0.4 rebounds, and 0.2 blocks in 23.6 minutes over the last five contests. On a team that for the most part lacks outside shooting, Morrow offers that in spades. However, his inability to defend will probably keep him from playing 30 minutes or more on most nights. As a result, he is likely best reserved for use in deeper leagues.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Scores 21 off bench Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow scored 21 points (8-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) while adding a rebound and an assist in 26 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 106-88 win over the Pistons.

The long-range specialist has started to see more action recently, averaging 22.3 minutes, 13.0 points and 2.0 threes over the last three games. Morrow doesn't offer much fantasy value in other categories, but if you need a boost in three-pointers he should be worth picking up in the short term.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Back with the team
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow (personal) was present for Thursday's practice, Erik Horne of The Oklahoman reports.

Morrow missed the Thunder's final preseason game Tuesday against the Nuggets while tending to the birth of his twin sons. After rejoining the team Thursday, it looks like he'll be ready to go for the start of the regular season. Morrow will fill a familiar role as a three-point specialist off the bench, though he could ultimately see promising rookie Alex Abrines assume most of his limited minutes.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Sits out Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow (personal) will sit out Tuesday's preseason contest against the Nuggets, Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman reports.

Morrow is awaiting the birth of his twin sons, so he'll get the night off Tuesday. With that said, the Thunder will have officially completed the preseason schedule, so look for Morrow's next outing to be the regular season opener versus the Sixers on Oct. 26.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Availability uncertain Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow (personal) is considered questionable for Tuesday's matchup with the Nuggets, Erik Horne of The Oklahoman reports.

Morrow was unavailable Sunday against Minnesota as he awaits the birth of his twin sons, and coach Billy Donovan said Monday that he's unsure if Morrow will be back with the team before Tuesday night. Considering it's a preseason game, Morrow doesn't have much reason to rush back, so it's likely a decision won't be made until sometime Tuesday.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Misses Sunday's game for personal reasons
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow was unavailable during Sunday's 112-94 preseason win over the Timberwolves for personal reasons, Erik Horne of The Oklahoman reports.

Morrow is awaiting the birth of his twin sons, and it's possible that he could remain away from the Thunder for their exhibition finale Tuesday against the Nuggets. The veteran sharpshooter averaged 13.6 minutes per game in 68 appearances a season ago, but could see a role reduction in 2016-17 with the team bringing in Alex Abrines this summer to provide some additional three-point shooting from the wing spots.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Contract guaranteed for 2016-17 season
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Thunder have guaranteed Morrow's $3.48 million contract for the 2016-17 season, Erik Horne of The Oklahoman reports.

In order to avoid Morrow's contract becoming guaranteed for the upcoming season, the Thunder would have had to waive him before July 15, but the offseason departures of Kevin Durant and Randy Foye prompted the team to hang on to the veteran. Morrow's meager salary isn't a bitter pill for the Thunder to swallow with the cap rising this summer, and the 30-year-old still brings value as a three-point shooter off the bench. Morrow tied Durant for the team lead last season with a 38.7 percent shooting mark from downtown, and is a 42.5 percent three-point shooter over his 10-year NBA career.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Scores 10 points on 4-for-4 shooting in Game 5 loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow put up 10 points (4-4 FG, 2-2 3Pt) in seven minutes off the bench during Thursday's 120-111 Game 5 loss to the Warriors.

Even though he barely played, Morrow still led the Thunder in bench scoring as coach Billy Donovan chose to ride his starters for heavy minutes. The tighter postseason rotation has made it difficult for the shooting guard to consistently make an impact or even get off the bench on some occasions, but when the Thunder need to make up a deficit with three-point production, there's few better weapons at Donovan's disposal than Morrow.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Doesn't leave bench in Game 4 win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow (coach's decision) didn't get off the bench in Sunday's 111-97 Game 4 win over the Spurs.

This was the first game of the series in which Morrow has failed to appear, as coach Billy Donovan opted to play Dion Waiters and Randy Foye ahead of Morrow off the bench. Morrow could still be called upon at some point later in the series when the Thunder want to get more shooters on the floor, but don't expect him to log major minutes in any single contest.

Thunder's Anthony Morrow: Goes off for 19 points, three treys in loss to Blazers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Morrow tallied 19 points (7-15 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists, and one steal across 31 minutes in Wednesday's 120-115 loss to the Trail Blazers.

Morrow entered the starting five with the Thunder resting four of their regulars on the top unit, which enabled the veteran sharpshooter to finish with his highest point and minutes total since a 20-point eruption over 34 minutes back on Jan. 4. While coach Billy Donovan should bring a number of the regular starters back in the mix Saturday against the Kings, it's possible that other rotation members could sit out, which may result in another enhanced minutes load for Morrow.
