  • Bears' Andrew Billings: Sheds sling after surgery

Billings underwent surgery to address a ruptured pectoral, Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network reports. Billings missed the last nine games of the 2024 season after tearing his pectoral in Week 9 at Arizona, but he now seems to be recovering well ahead of the start of the new league year. He projects as a regular contributor on the interior of Chicago's defensive line in 2025.

  • Bears' Jaquan Brisker: Expected to contribute in 2025

Bears general manager Ryan Poles said Tuesday he expects Brisker (concussion) to play for Chicago and contribute during the 2025 campaign, Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Poles said Brisker and offensive lineman Ryan Bates (concussion), both of whom ended the 2024 regular season on IR, are "feeling back to themselves," per Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic. A 2022 second-round pick, Brisker missed 12 games in 2024 due to a concussion. The Bears will undoubtedly prioritize Brisker's health above all other concerns, but it appears the safety is expected to play a role on defense in the 2025 season, in which he'll be playing on the final year of his rookie contract.

Jones missed the last nine games of the season with a shoulder injury, and ended the year with 15 tackles (13 solo) and two passes defensed in eight games played. Jones will be a restricted free agent this offseason.

  • Bears' Jack Sanborn: Worst season of career

Sanborn recorded one solo tackle in the Bears' 24-22 win over the Packers on Sunday. Sanborn had posted 64 and 65 tackles during his first two seasons in the league. In 2024, the veteran ended the season with 35 tackles (17 solo), including 1.5 sacks, and three defensed passes in 17 games. The biggest issue was that the Bears followed a trend in the league in which teams often use two linebackers on the field, instead of the traditional three or four. The defensive scheme resulted in Sanborn playing just 22 percent of the snaps. He'll be a restricted free agent this offseason.

  • Bears' Darrell Taylor: Set to hit free agency

Taylor posted four solo tackles in the Bears' 24-22 win over the Packers on Sunday. In terms of tackles, the defensive end posted 32, which was right in line with his previous career average of 30. Taylor is an unrestricted free agent, and if he moves to a team that can weaponize him as a pass rusher, his IDP value would improve.
