  • Marcus Allen: Works out with Philadelphia

Allen worked out with the Eagles on Tuesday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports. Allen now appears to have recovered from a biceps injury he suffered in December. The 26-year-old has spent the entirety of his six-year career with the Steelers and registering 57 tackles (34 solo) in 48 games.

  • Steelers' Marcus Allen: Receives arm procedure

Allen underwent biceps surgery following Saturday's win over the Raiders, Mark Kaboly of The Athletic reports. While the Steelers haven't confirmed that Allen had surgery, the linebacker's recent Instagram stories would seem to indicate that he had a procedure following Saturday's contest. Expect the Steelers to provide an update on the 26-year-old's status within the next few days, but the fact that he had surgery clouds his availability for the final two games of the season.

  • Steelers' Marcus Allen: Staying with Steelers

Allen signed his restricted free agent tender with the Steelers on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. Allen will thus remain in Pittsburgh for at least one more season after inking the contract tender extended to him by the team. Over the past two seasons, the 2018 fifth-round pick accumulated 43 tackles in 30 games while playing primarily on special teams, with 393 snaps coming in that phase during that span. The 25-year-old appeared on just 59 defensive snaps in 2021, and going forward should continue to slot in as a reserve behind starting inside linebackers Devin Bush and Myles Jack.

  • Steelers' Marcus Allen: Placed on COVID-19 list

The Steelers placed Allen (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday. Allen has played mainly on special teams this season, but his status for Sunday's game against Kansas City is now in jeopardy. Ulysees Gilbert could see a slight uptick in playing time if Allen is out Sunday.

  • Steelers' Marcus Allen: Unavailable for Week 16

Allen (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Colts. Allen played every snap in last week's loss to the Bengals, but now he's set to miss his second game of the year. The Steelers' linebacker depth is hurting badly. Vince Williams and Avery Williamson are expected to start at inside linebacker in Week 16 as a result.
