  • Broncos' Justin Strnad: On track to play Christmas Day

Strnad (foot) was a full participant in Monday's walkthrough practice, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. Strnad was unable to play in Sunday's loss to the Jaguars due to a foot injury. However, his full participation in Monday's session indicates that he's past the injury and on track to play Thursday against the Chiefs. Strnad could be deployed in a starting role at inside linebacker if Dre Greenlaw (hamstring) is unable to play.

Strnad (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Packers, James Palmer of The Athletic reports. Strnad was unable to walk off the field under his own power after injuring his ankle in the first quarter. Jordan Turner will step into a larger rotational role at inside linebacker behind Alex Singleton and Dre Greenlaw for as long as Strnad is out of the game.

Strnad tallied 10 tackles (four solo) Sunday in a 22-19 win over the Chiefs. Strnad logged a start with Alex Singleton (illness) missing the contest. Strnad ended up reaching a career-high mark with 10 stops, which paced the Broncos in the big victory. Denver is on bye in Week 12, and it's unclear if Singleton will be back for Week 13. If not, Strnad figures to get another start at linebacker.

Strnad registered seven tackles (five solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday's Week 6 loss to the Chargers. Strnad's fourth-quarter sack came on third down, resulting in a Chargers punt. It was the linebacker's second sack over the past three weeks after coming into the campaign with no sacks over 50 career regular-season games. Strnad didn't have much of a chance to get to the quarterback prior to 2024, though, as he played exclusively on special teams in both 2022 and 2023.

Now healthy, he'll use Sunday's game to make his case for a depth inside linebacker spot on the Broncos' final 53-man roster. After dislocating the lunate bone and suffering multiple torn ligaments in his wrist during an August practice, Strnad did not ultimately field a single snap during his rookie campaign. Strnad's rehabilitation process incorporated upper body exercises several weeks ago, according to Troy Renck of Denver7 News. Now, it's confirmed the linebacker will be ready to roll when offseason workouts begin in late April.
