Chiefs' Ben Niemann: Practicing Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Niemann was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's practice report.

After missing Week 17's game against the Chargers, Niemann has had time to recover and is making progress in his hamstring injury. The inside linebacker hopefully should be ready to return for Sunday's AFC divisional-round game against the Browns.

Chiefs' Ben Niemann: Will sit out Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Niemann (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.

Niemann suffered a hamstring injury during last week's win over the Falcons. It would've been tough to return in Week 17 under normal circumstances, and there's no reason to rush him back with the top spot in the AFC locked up. Darius Harris likely will bump into a starting role in the season finale.

Chiefs' Ben Niemann: Dealing with hamstring issue
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Niemann (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Falcons.

The inside linebacker made quite an impact before his first-half exit, notching a forced fumble and three tackles (including one for loss). Kansas City will have to rotate a defender in from another position if Niemann proves unable to return to the contest, with Anthony Hitchens remaining on the reserve/COVID-19 list and Dorian O'Daniel (ankle) on injured reserve.

Chiefs' Ben Niemann: Records first career sack
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Niemann tallied two tackles (both solo), including his first career sack Monday versus the Ravens.

Niemann continues to rotate in among a deep group of linebackers for the Chiefs, playing 43 percent of the snaps in Monday's contest. While it produced his first career sack, Niemann also saw a downturn in defensive snap percentage and just two tackles after racking up nine a week ago. He doesn't see the field enough at the moment to warrant IDP consideration in most formats.

Chiefs' Ben Niemann: Settles in as rotational linebacker
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Niemann amassed 56 tackles (35 solo) and one pass breakup while appearing in all 16 of the Chiefs' regular-season games in 2019.

While many teams are utilizing linebacker-heavy packages less often these days in the pass-driven NFL, Niemann logged north of 400 defensive snaps thanks in part to starter Anthony Hitchens missing a pair of games in the middle of the season. Niemann should serve in a similar reserve role in 2020, but he could see his playing time increase if one or more starting linebackers misses time.

Chiefs' Ben Niemann: Sees uptick in playing time
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Niemann stepped in for the injured Anthony Hitchens (groin) Sunday and recorded 10 tackles (six solo) versus the Texans.

Niemann logged no more than 23 percent of the defensive snaps prior to Sunday night's contest, when he played 86 percent. He could be set for another big day next week if Hitchens' groin issue keeps him out for another game.

Chiefs' Ben Niemann: Practices Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Niemann (hamstring) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.

Niemann was sidelined for Sunday's win over the 49ers due to a hamstring issue, but the injury no longer appears to be a concern. Barring any setbacks, expect the special teams contributor to suit up against the Broncos on Monday.

Chiefs' Ben Niemann: Out Week 3 against 49ers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Niemann (hamstring) is listed as inactive Sunday against San Francisco, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.

What appeared to be a midweek setback left Niemann with a "doubtful" tag, so the Chiefs will be left searching for a replacement for his modest special teams contributions.

Chiefs' Ben Niemann: Doubtful to play
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Niemann (hamstring) is doubtful to play in Sunday's game against the 49ers, Brooke Pryor of The Kansas City Star reports.

Niemann appeared in line to play this weekend after logging a full practice Thursday. However, the linebacker may have suffered a setback, as Niemann was subsequently a limited practice participant on Friday. Unless his health takes a quick turnaround before gametime, Kansas City may have to look elsewhere for help on special teams.

Chiefs' Ben Niemann: Limited participant Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Niemann (hamstring) was limited during Wednesday's practice.

Niemann suffered a hamstring injury during the Chiefs' season opener and was inactive for Sunday's game against the Steelers. It's a positive sign that he's able to practice in a limited capacity, but his status will remain cloudy until he at least turns in a full practice.

Chiefs' Ben Niemann: Ruled out for Week 2
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Niemann (hamstring) won't suit up against the Steelers on Sunday, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.

Niemann continues to nurse a hamstring injury suffered in the team's season opener. The severity of the depth linebacker's injury remains unknown, but Niemann shouldn't be expected to play until he's at least able to fully return to practice.

Niemann (hamstring) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.

Neimann suffered a hamstring injury during the Chiefs' season opener and still appears to be working toward recovery. The depth linebacker won't suit up for Sunday's game against the Steelers unless he's able to get healthy and fully practice at some point this week.
