Wes Welker: "A small percentage" he plays again
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Welker stated there's "a small percentage" he will play again, the Miami Herald reports.

Welker has served as a voluntary coach for Miami during part of the offseason, but the Dolphins have been adamant they do not intend to sign him as a player. Last month, head coach Adam Gase declared that Welker is always welcome back in a "pseudo coaching-type" role. Ultimately, there just doesn't appear to be a market for the 35-year-old at this point in time, and although he won't be donning a Dolphins jersey seemingly ever again, Welker will forever live on in Miami lore as becoming one of the only players in NFL history to attempt a kickoff, extra point and field goal, return both a kickoff and punt, and log a tackle, all in a single game in 2004.

Rams' Wes Welker: Struggled to produce in 2015
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Welker finished an abbreviated campaign for St. Louis with 13 catches for 102 yards.

Welker's career was considered to possibly be over before St. Louis signed him in November. While he wasn't bad, he didn't seem to have the spark he once had as a PPR monster. If he wants to keep playing, he's likely to find a home somewhere next season, but his days of fantasy relevance are nearing their conclusion.

Rams' Wes Welker: Active Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Welker (calf) is active for Sunday's contest against the Lions, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Welker is unlikely to experience an uptick in usage with the switch from Nick Foles to Case Keenum (concussion). However, even if he does, standout plays haven't been a part of Welker's repertoire as a Ram, as evidence by 4.5 YPT.

Rams' Wes Welker: Set to play against Lions
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Welker (calf) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Lions, Nick Wagoner of ESPN reports.

Welker should see a few targets as his team's primary slot receiver, but there simply isn't much upside to be had in a run-first St. Louis offense that has scored 36 points in his four games. Welker only has nine catches for 72 yards on 16 targets, and it isn't clear that Case Keenum is an upgrade from Nick Foles.

Rams' Wes Welker: Limited Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Welker (calf) was limited in practice Wednesday, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Welker has suited up in each of the Rams' four games since joining the organization on Nov. 9, totaling nine catches (on 16 targets) for 72 yards. With such negligible production, he isn't much of a fantasy consideration, and a calf injury won't aid in finding success in a Case Keenum-helmed offense.

Rams' Wes Welker: Two catches for 15 yards in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Welker hauled in two catches for 15 yards as the Rams fell to the Cardinals 27-3 on Sunday.

No matter who has been starting, the Rams' passing offense has been atrocious this season and that doesn't bode well for Welker. He has picked up a couple catches a week since joining St. Louis, but his days of being a PPR monster are long behind him.

Rams' Wes Welker: Catches pair of passes in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Welker made a pair of catches for 12 yards in a 31-7 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.

This was about on average with how Welker has done over his first three weeks, as he has seven catches for 57 yards. He won't see enough targets to make much of a difference in fantasy terms.

Rams' Wes Welker: Catches two passes Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Welker caught a pair of passes Sunday for 13 yards as the Rams fell to the Ravens 16-13.

Welker hasn't made much of an impact since joining the Rams, posting five catches for 45 yards. That has a lot to do with his quarterback situation, however, as Nick Foles and Case Keenum both had sub-par games in Welker's two weeks in the lineup. In this bad of a passing offense, receivers have minimal to no fantasy value.

Rams' Wes Welker: Minimal impact in season debut
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Welker caught three of his six targets for 32 yards in his season debut Sunday against the Rams.

The veteran was the second most frequently-tarageted Rams player in his first game, but his production was limited by his usage primarily on short passes. Welker could see his share of targets from week to week, and the Rams' impotent passing attack will limit his upside. A matchup against the porous Baltimore secondary is on tap in Week 11, but Welker is still far from a reliable fantasy asset at the moment.

Rams' Wes Welker: Likely to play Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Welker is expected to be active Sunday against the Ravens, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Welker just signed with the Rams this week, so while he has a strong track record in the NFL, he has barely had time to learn the playbook or even build a little chemistry with quarterback Nick Foles, so expectations should be tempered.

Rams' Wes Welker: Could play in Sunday's game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rams head coach Jeff Fisher hinted that Welker will be ready for Sunday's game against the Bears, ESPN's Nick Wagoner reports.

Fisher said the team is still evaluating Welker's readiness, but it sounds as if the recent acquisition is more likely to play than not. Expectations should still be held in check, as Welker will likely have a part-time role in the NFL's least prolific passing attack. At best, he'll be a regular presence in the slot in three-wide formations.

Rams' Wes Welker: Signs with Rams
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Rams have signed Welker.

With wideout Stedman Bailey having been suspended for four games, Welker will provide the Rams' offense with valuable experience and depth. While it would be unwise to project Welker to immediately replicate the sort of production that he enjoyed in his prime, if he is able to stay healthy and secure a steady role in the St. Louis offense, he is a candidate to carve out a degree of PPR utility in the coming weeks.

Wes Welker: Works out for Rams
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Welker worked out for the Rams on Monday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

Welker's visit with the Rams comes as St. Louis' passing game currently ranks dead-last in the NFL in yards this season. As a result, it's clear the Rams need a boost in that department, thus incentivizing Monday's workout. Although Welker was cleared by a renowned doctor this offseason, grave concerns still surround his extensive concussion history. Additionally, at 34 years old, it's unclear how much he has left in the tank, explaining why he's available as a free agent. At this moment, it's unclear whether Monday's workout will result in anything further between Welker and the Rams.

Free agent WR Wes Welker: 'I want to keep playing'
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com

For a wideout with five 1,000-yard seasons under his belt, free agent Wes Welker might not understand why he remains a man without a team.

After all, he hasn't faded into oblivion statistically. He started eight games last year for Denver and caught 49 passes. He snagged a career-high 10 touchdowns in 2013.

"I want to keep playing," Welker told the Toucher and Rich radio show. He added that he would be open to rejoining the Patriots, for whom he had his finest seasons.

It remains to be seen how much he could produce at age 34 on a team without a premier quarterback. Welker has spent his nearly his entire career catching passes from Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

Broncos' Wes Welker says concussion expert cleared him to play
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

Wide receiver Wes Welker, formerly of the Broncos, hasn't had much interest on the free agent market. He's had one visit--to the Dolphins--since he became a free agent in March. Concern over his repeated concussions may be one factor.

Welker told Denver's 9News that he met with one of the country's leading experts on concussions and got a clean bill of health.

Welker visited Seattle's Dr. Stanley Herring in February and was cleared to resume his NFL career.

"I knew there were concerns out there but on top of that I wanted to know for my own peace of mind," Welker said . "If there was something wrong, I wanted to know. The doctor said some people are able to take those hits. They get up and are able to come back from them. And there's some people who get them and they're never the same. For me, everything came out all good. My cognitive tests were good. All kinds of tests came out good. I had a trip to Miami and they're doctors said everything looked good."

Wes Welker visit to Dolphins concludes without a deal
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com

Free-agent receiver Wes Welker concluded his visit with the Dolphins on Wednesday, the organization announced.

According to the Miami Herald, Welker left the complex without signing a deal. Welker became a marquee NFL receiver during his six years with the Patriots from 2007-2012. He spent the last two years with the Broncos.

Report: WR Wes Welker visiting the Dolphins on Wednesday
by Sean D'Oliveira | CBS Sports Staff

Free-agent wide receiver Wes Welker is meeting with the Dolphins on Wednesday, reports the Sun Sentinel.

Welker is an 11-year veteran and played the last two seasons for the Broncos. In 2014, he had his least productive season since 2005. Last season, Welker caught 49 passes for 464 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games.

Welker previously spent three seasons with the Dolphins.

Broncos coach Gary Kubiak: Wes Welker wants to keep playing
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Broncos coach Gary Kubiak told reporters during his combine press conference on Wednesday that wide receiver Wes Welker has no plans to retire this offseason, per NFL.com.

Welker was reportedly weighing retirement, but he rebuffed those rumors when he told the Denver Post Monday that he's "getting ready for 2015."

Welker will become an unrestricted free agent in March, and Kubiak added that he would "love to have him back" with the Broncos. The 33-year-old, who has dealt with a number of concussions during his career, is coming off a season in which he hauled in 49 passes for 464 yards and two touchdowns. He has 890 catches for 9,822 yards in his 12-year career.

Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker has no plans to retire this offseason, according to the Denver Post

Reports surfaced last week that Welker was considering retirement, but Welker told the Post he has no plans to leave the game. "Just getting ready for 2015," Welker said. When asked about retirement, Welker said that the word "never ever came out of my mouth."

The 33-year-old Welker is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March, and it's unclear whether he'll re-sign with Denver. Welker is coming off a season in which he hauled in 49 passes for 464 yards and two touchdowns. He's dealt with a number of concussions during his career, leading to speculation that he might walk away from the game early.

Report: Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker considering retirement
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com

Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker is reportedly considering retiring from football, according to FOXSports.com.

Welker, who will become a free agent this offseason, has 890 catches for 9,822 yards in his 12-year career. In his two years with the Broncos, Welker has totaled 122 catches for 1,242 yards and 12 touchdowns, just two in 2014.

Welker said just one day after losing in the divisional round of the playoffs he wasn't sure about 2015.

"I don't know. There are a lot of things I've got to figure out in the offseason," Welker said.
