WEST HARTFORD, CT (AP) -- Aaron Cook scored a game-high 18 points Saturday as Hartford beat the University of Maryland Baltimore County, 80-54.
It was the first America East Conference win of the season for the Hawks.
UMBC (6-7, 1-3) was led by Cory McJimson's 14 points. Rashad Bilal added 13 points.
Demarcquez Rembert scored a career-high 15 points for Hartford (5-8, 1-3) and David Ruffin added 14 points and five rebounds.
Hartford used a 14-point run late in the first half to take a 46-32 halftime lead. The Retrievers never cut the lead into single digits in the second.
